Ludlow 57 Lloyd 52

Featured Replies

I simply think that all districts should be required to seed. The win over Lloyd would have given them a probable 2 seed and they would have avoided a 1st round game with Dixie which is usually the best team in the district.

I'm also well aware of the teams that they played in years past so that is even more reason to ask why they decided to dumb down their schedule this year. This years team imo has the ability to compete with some of the better teams but apparently whoever put the schedule together didn't think so.

Enough said, I wish Ludlow and all the smaller Class A schools a huge amount of success this year.

That's a pretty big assumption for you to make. You seem to like to bash on Ludlow Athletics and some of their decisions on here (basketball, football, baseball), might I recommend you maybe offer some of your expertise in the form of a volunteer assistant coach? Or possibly help in some other capacity. Schools are always looking for volunteers to do things like work concessions, run scoreboards, keep books, announce, or take money at games. You could even get on the school board as a community member and help to raise funds for better facilities to help all athletes in the Ludlow community. Any of the above efforts would probably better serve the athletes of the community you seem to have a genuine interest in. Just a suggestion for a more constructive way of doing things.

No bashing here just an observation that differs from yours. Also I do quite a bit of volunteering at the school where my kids attend and enjoy it a great deal.

With this win and their schedule the Panthers should win 18 to 20 games. If they don't...

Congratulations Ludlow on getting off to a very good start. I hope to get the chance to see them play a few times this year.

Why would Ludlow seed? They can't be the only team that prefers the blind draw, otherwise the district would seed. Last year the boys did play Ryle. 2 years ago they played the likes of Campbell, Ryle, St. Henry (Maybe leading to the "underachievers" status that you so eloquently spoke of). Anyways, congrats to the Ludlow team on a fine win to start their season.

I graduated from Ludlow, and I really wish they would seed, instead of doing this blind draw. I mean back when they were in the district with CovCath, Holy Cross and Holmes, I saw the reason for the blind draw. But I really don't see how having a blind draw in this district helps Ludlow at all, if anything it could end up hurting them by making them play Dixie in the 1st round. I think Ludlow really should actually vote for it to be seeded...Also 2 years ago that team was a very underachieving team if you consider the talent they had on the team...

:thumb: Even when they were in the 35th district what would it have mattered. Year in and year out CCH, Holmes and HC are usually in the Top 5 in the Region so with seeding or blind draw a small school like Ludlow and now Beechwood really doesn't have much of a chance. For some reason Ludlow officials tend to be viewed as uncooperative on a variety of issues and this is just one of the areas that stands out...Seems their baseball coach agreed with seeding and voted for it last year and threw the people in charge at Ludlow into a bit of a tizzy. I believe he was still laughing as he walked out the door for the final time last school year. At least that is what one coach has told me that was close to Coach Brake

You are correct about the team from 2 years ago. I got to see them play on a number of occassions and kept waiting for them to get it all together. 6'8" and 6'6" and a guard that could knock down the 3 on most nights and they were barely over 500 for the year. Very undisciplined and didn't work well together at all from what I saw. The talent was there so it had to be something else I suppose..

So what are your implying Hamilton Joe? You seem to know a lot about the Ludlow teams.

Not implying anything at all 1st Down. Hope the Panthers are successful. I try to see them play every year 2 or 3 times as I do a great many schools in NKY. MY comments are based upon what I see and things I hear from any number of people that have ties to that school and the Ludlow community.
