Although North does lose a very talented offensive player in RD Reynolds, junior Jordan Mayberry accounted for about 1,400 yds at QB this year in about 6 games full-time and 3 games part-time as well as being named All-District 1st Team QB. With that said, Cissell will carry a much bigger load but things look much better in '08 with the emergence of Mayberry at QB.

That's outstanding. If he gets a great test score, I think he should try and get his Congressional nomination and go play football for Army, Navy, or Air Force. That way he could play DI football, get a top-drawer education, serve his country, and get paid to do it. Same thing Rakes from BE was going to do year before last.

Good idea, will pass it along. Not sure if Rakes is still there or not. Did not see his name on the Air Force roster.

I've heard various things about Rakes, I don't have any facts though. Cissell has improved each and every year. It used to be if you stopped him in the first quarter he was done for the game. Not anymore. Used to be if you kept him from getting outside he struggled on the inside, not anymore.

 

Rakes was an incredible up the middle runner. Cissell is a better all-around back. I'm biased after watching him for the last 3 years but I don't think there is a better running back in the state.

 

He will struggle to play D1 ball only because of stereotypes. Running backs his size play d1 ball all the time.

Rakes did not end up going to Air Force but is in college, though not playing football, I don't think.

I truly believe Cissell will have a HUGE year next season. I realize EVERYONE will be keying on him EVERY game, but he will put in the work this off-season and be ready to carry the load next year. It would not surprise me if he betters the 194 yds rushing per game he put up as a sophomore. It was no surprise that his numbers fell off to 144 yds per game this season as both Reynolds and Mayberry had over 1,300 yds each running & passing combined.
