Best team HHS has seen in the regular season

Featured Replies

Now that the regular season is over, which Highlands opponent was the best they faced during the regular season? Keep in mind, I'm talking about how good an opponent was WHEN HHS played them (i.e. if a team has improved a lot since HHS played them, don't view the opponent's quality level at the present time, but what it was when HHS played them).

By the looks of it, either Trotwood-Madison or Central was the best, given that HHS only beat TM by 4 and was down 13-0 to Central late in the game (and eventually won by 8). Also, I'm sure LexCath and maybe even CovCath have to be considered.

I would say Lexington Catholic or Central. Those two games seemed to be the tougher ones for the Birds.

Trotwood had tons of athletes but they shot themselves in the foot and got outcoached and outplayed. This was probably the most cherished victory this year because it was an OH team.

The way that the Highlands fans post on here the best team that Highlands has faced this year has to be their second string .:ylsuper:

Your probably right:thumb: Honestly, I would have to go with Loiusville Central.

Louisville Central:p

I gotta go with TM. Central couldn't move the ball outside of the 2 long pass plays. Their defense was outstanding. TM just felt as though on ANY play they could go the distance...and their defense wasn't too shabby. Neither team had a kicking game...which SHOCKS me for schools with the type of athletes they have. LexCath had a very solid all around team...but the "fear factor" wasn't there like TM/Central.

I have to go with the size, speed and power of Central. They moved when they needed to. If you were at the game, you saw that their coach did a superb job of calling a great game, Highlands just caught some breaks that helped us get out of there with a W. Central opened it up when they needed to and showed some amazing passing ability. They did NOT try to be flashy and show off(JIMHO) like TM. I think that TM had an air assault like no other teams Highlands saw but Central was the whole package. Their line on both sides of the ball was amazing. I see Central going all the way if they play like they did against Highlands. It had to be a shot in the arm even though they lost, they played well. Just wish they could get some fans in that beautiful new Dixie-like facility.

Some of our fans are rather exuberant. ;) I prefer to look forward, and focus on the current week's game.

I agree. Central had the biggest, badest O and D-line that the BIRDS faced all year. Our O and D-lines just wore them down towards the end... I thought Trotwood had the best defensive secondary that the BIRDS faced during the regular season. I would also have to say the best QB that the BIRDS faced was Trotwood's. Fast, shifty and shady! :D

exuberant, good word.
Thank goodness for spell check. ;)
