Playoffs are here and I've not heard much on the recruitment front. Is anyone being contacted? If so, by whom? I've only heard Stein from HHS (Holy Cross) and Farris from Boone (UK-Baseball). There HAS to be more...when is the most active period?

Drew Davis and Dominic Mainello from Beechwood have had many D1 inquires. Davis has spoken too UC, Nort Carolina and Mainello has Florida,Nebraska, UK, MSU and UC as well taking close looks. Cody Elliot has signed with Ball State (baseball). Keep you all posted after playoffs, Thats when it will start gearing up.

Brian Wrobleski of NCC has been contacted By Ohio State (Baseball). He will visit with coach Bob Todd in the spring.

Tim McIntyre has recieved letters from Louisville, UC, and UK. Not sure how serious they are about him, but he has great feet, good speed and strength, and has an excellent body stature for an OL in college.

If a potential D1 kid doesn't get an offer and then goes 1-AA that means a potential 1-AA kid has to now go D2 or NAIA which means.... Its a trickle down effect.

Not in call cases but in many. If you're being recruited by both a 1-AA and an NAIA team, you might wait until you see if you're going to get an offer from 1-AA. You might not know that until the D1 kid sees if he's getting an offer. If he doesn't, he then goes to 1-AA which means one less scholarship at that level.

D1 and 1AA teams have two types of walkons: preferred and the rest. Preferred get to start in the summer with the team. The others have to wait until the first day of class before they can practice - if they're actually invited to walk on.

For preferred walk-ons, when do they try out then? Or does the coach just invite them to be a preferred walk-on without a try out? When scholarship offers are going around in the winter, are some players invited then to be a preferred walk-on?

oh, ok. Thanks. So would a coach just contact a player and instead of a scholarship, offer a preferred walk-on status???? Or would this happen more likely if a player was contacting the coach and he knew their would not be a scholarship but still thought the player could play and would tell them then?
