MountainThunder Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 P'burgs defense must be pretty solid to hold PCC to 21 points.
bobcatfan4ever Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Good win for PCC, I really thought Prestonsburg would win this.
onetoya Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Great game. Perry is legit. Because they beat a 2A team at home without their starting qb? I'm not sure who Perry County Central's District will play in the 5A playoff after the first 2 rounds but I don't like their chances. If we still mixed the districts in the region there is a strong likelihood that Perry's district would get swept, IMO.
oneijoe Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 P'burgs defense must be pretty solid to hold PCC to 21 points. It IS a good Blackcat defense. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the offense. I've got a lot to say, but don't have time now. Prestonsburg missed a 31 yd. FG as time expired. Good luck, PCC...good win!!

You have an ax to grind, onetoya ?!? Any way you look at it, this is a good win Perry Central. They've had some real struggles in building their football program. A win vs. a top tier EKY team is a good step in the right direction. :thumb: OTOH, this Prestonsburg team needs to learn its identity with the new QB in a HURRY. If this Blackcat team is going to make any noise in the playoffs, it'll take more than Craynon left, Craynon right, and a good (not "great") defense. The time for protecting the new QB should have been over. Burchett has a good arm and a good head on his shoulders. There's no reason he can't be given some freedom to check plays at the LOS and used to throw passes (besides desperation bombs). I was hoping he'd get that chance this game, but the Blackcats stayed ultra-conservative (again).
Pirate Pride Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Ouch... Its a tough loss for Pburg to lose Hughes this late in the year. From following them on here, it didn't seem they were a top 5 2a team per se, but a team that COULD (with a great performance) be a contender. I hope the young man who has been forced into action at QB can grow up quick. Bottom line, this game has basically NO MEANING (except to let the young QB gain experience)
