November 1, 200718 yr The latest talk had them receiving Ben Wallace and Ron Artest in a three-way crash with Chicago and Sacramento.
November 2, 200718 yr Bulls GM said they were never on the verge of a deal for Kobe. Bolded are key words. Doesn't deny that there were conversations and even strong conversations, but not to the point that they had to make a decision on whether they were pulling the trigger or not.
November 2, 200718 yr Kobe squashed that deal. Would have been interesting, that's for sure... I would've LOVED all of the, "But MJ did this..." talk if Kobe went to Chicago. It makes me smile knowing he would've had to "pass" that statue everyday going to work...
November 2, 200718 yr Author I would've LOVED all of the, "But MJ did this..." talk if Kobe went to Chicago. It makes me smile knowing he would've had to "pass" that statue everyday going to work... It would have been quite a storyline...I was hoping to see it. :thumb: I don't think it would be a bad trade for Chicago...giving up all 4 would be, but one of the two alternatives would be a good deal, IMO. I don't think Chicago will win a title without adding a superstar. They need someone who can take games over and keep them in games when things aren't going well... Yes, Detroit did it, but it's extremely rare to see an NBA team do what they did. It's a bit naive to expect Chicago to just ride that blueprint to a title...not to mention, I don't see Chicago's players as being on the same level of what Detroit had. Big Ben isn't the same player he was in Detroit. The Bulls have no one close to the same talent level as Rasheed Wallace. Luol Deng and Tayshaun Prince could be comparable. Gordon and Hamilton could be a wash. Heinrich is no Chauncey Billups. I'm just not seeing it...the Bulls peak with their current roster would be a Finals loss to one of the Western powers...
