Or you can just threaten with bad publicity and they will gladly take it back I am sure. You hate to do it but if you say you are going to start telling others the story and give the dealership not necessarily a bad name but a non-sympathetic label they may be willing to work with you. I know they are in business and if every dealership took back a car when a buyer had remorse they wouldnt be in business but this may work.

The dealer cannot simply take it back because they changed their mind if there's no "cooling off" provision that HHSDad mentioned.

 

The dealer will buy it back but it will not be anywhere near what the customer paid for it. They can't or they would lose money.

After threatening to voice our displeasure over getting sold an unsafe vehicle to anybody that would listen we were offered the option of getting another vehicle in the same price range. They did offer to fix the Land Rover, I didn't trust that their guys would fix it. So, we looked around on the lot for something we liked and took it to our mechanic and had him do a once over to it. We would have done that the first time, but our mechanic wasn't open on Saturday and we had actually bought a vehicle from our same salesman in the past and didn't have any trouble. I will never buy a car from that place again and I urge anybody on here that lives in the Nicholasville/Lexington area to do the same. PM me if you want to know who I am talking about.

Correct, especially if the title paperwork has already gone through and the car has been driven any mileage at all. It is now a used car and no one will pay new prices for it.

Uhh, yeah....the offered to fix it after I was threatened by my salesman that if I didn't get the truck off the lot it would be towed to my house, as well as while I was talking to my salesman, another salesman was standing behind him running his mouth to me and my wife. I also had to listen to my salesman give me the "I am a veteran, I served my country and I still have shrapnel in me, I have no reason to lie to you," speech.

 

Our salesman and his manager had a real quick attitude adjustment when I showed them the detailed maintenance statement from the Land Rover dealer. When I started pushing the issue of being sold an unsafe vehicle by them, they didn't much like it and were real quick to want to come to a resolution that worked out more in my favor. I have never seen 2 people go from "jerk" to "mr. nice guy" any faster than those guys.

First, the comments have to be true. Second, even if they are true, you can still be sued and have to pay for an attorney to defend yourself. That could include the medium where you are posting your comments.
