The backup setter for NDA already has a DI offer yet she isn't getting into the matches? That's crazy.

 

Schriever is pretty good....I think her size helps her but would like to see her do of the dump hits off the set because it seems like nobody has guarded her against it.

Watching Assumption and Mercy play was the best $6 I've spent in a while. The James girl has unreal hops and her partner #20 can hammer it as well. Great, great atmosphere.

I assumed they were watching James until I read that she had already committed to the Huskers. That's big time.

There was a lady with a Nebraska shirt on sitting right next to them. I didn't see the number of the girl they were talking to but they all talked to the same girl and all seemed to be big buddies about it!

 

Mr. Kordes got after James a couple times. Pretty intense the first time. I was close enough she just kept saying, OK over and over again. then she buries the next ball at the ten foot line. Guess he got his point across.

 

Anybody know why James and 2 other seniors didn'tdress for the Corbin game? Should she get MVP not playing in all games?

I guess it would only be appropriate for Assumption to win the state championship on a kill by James.

I didn't mean anything against South. What part of my statement sounded like I was dogging south. Sorry if I offended you. I thought South played a great game. I was attempting to stand up for South and their area. Heck I was cheering for them. I get tired of hearing people slam the area. I agree there were a couple of calls that were questionable against South. The biggest being the lift called in the 3rd game. I still feel South gained more from the refs than did Henry Clay. You should be very proud of the girls. I am very proud of them. As for being upset over a loss, I don't formulate my V-ball opinions based on a PC win or loss. Losing is part of the game..Unless your Assumption... and they have even lost a couple this year!

COngratulations to all the participants in volleyball. You know a sport has arrived when everyone starts talking about the officiating. However, consider this. Could it be that the regular season officiating is the problem? WHen they get to state and it starts getting called very much at a a different level they aren't used to? Just wondering.

It's not that it was called, more that it wasn't called. You are right. The regular season officiating is part of the problem.

The speed of play I think affects the officiating. If you are not used to it, you can slow down the game, calls are made seconds slow, subsitutions slow, more questioning between the refs etc. The final game offical at the net has officiated many games at speed and it showed in how well he called and controlled the game.
