I like the new rule. And counting every game in a tournament is OK. I hope that all 36 can be played.

Out west we already do a lot of pool play with 4 teams. That gets you 3 games and then a 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 matchup to get another game out of a tournament for a total of 4 games.

 

That is not bad and was very beneficial under the old system where those 4 games got counted as 2. Now you have to count all 4.

 

Since most of these happen on a Friday and Saturday you will lose a few games during the week which might not be such a bad thing. It will keep the kids home to be able to study more.

I can see more and more tournaments, be similar to this format. Playing 2-3 games, against quality opponents can work.

In an 8 week season, some could get 8-10 starts and others, 10-12 starts.

 

Some programs, will get 55 ± innings and others, mid 65's ± .

I think most people will like the game limit.

In the long run, I think it will allow teams to play more games before tournament.

It's hard to get 36 games in a normal baseball season.
