I hate to burst your bubble but I agree with mom55, your only suppost to be out for 1 game not 2. Even if it was their behavior, they should have been punished not set out for the game.Now back to FBALL, are team really needs #2 in the game.I mean our boys want to win,and we need all we can get.I think the boys are tired of changing positions and all of these injuries. And since your praising Coach Sammons for something that is not right,then maybe you could use him in your football program.

I would assume that the point he is trying to make is that he supports the coaches decision to set the kids out. You say they should have been punished and it sounds like that is exactly what the coach did. What are we teaching the kids if we allow them to act up and still get to play the game. All kids need to be held responsible for their actions and not babied just to try to win a game. Give someone that shows up for practice, gives their best to the team and does not cause all of the trouble and drama a chance to show what they can do.

 

As for using Coach Sammons I think we have a pretty decent staff that can get the job done by themselves.

Sometimes there is more to it than winning a game. He is supposed to be teaching the game, teamwork, discipline, getting along well with others...etc. Sounds like some behavior issues that he is dealing with in his own way.

If a player or coach is ejected from a game they are automatically suspended from their next scheduled game at that level and the coach is fined $50 for his ejection. There is no other rule mandated by the KHSAA. If a coach or the school administration chooses to add to a suspension it is solely up to them. Rather than complaining about a coach trying to take control and teach values to a student-athlete we should applaud them.

As for #2 he has not missed a practice. His Heart belong to football, 200%, if

Yes, it is solely up to the coach to give extended punishment, but what kind of punishment is doing nothing. The only thing that's hurting those boys is not being in the game. The coach should be making them do double what the team is doing, not sitting and watching or better yet nothing at all. Who wouldn't love time off from practice? Besides, two weeks out of practice and weight lifting is going to hurt them phsyically, that's not good either. They should be running or something while the rest of the team is practicing. This is all just my opinion!
