Greenup County 29 Raceland 14 (JV)

Sorry this posted twicke.

Wow, and you know this how? Hopefully, there are a few boys that gives effort in these meets.

Raceland and Russell were the big winners at the meet this past year. I think that Rowan County, Lawrence County, and West Carter also participated. GCHS had a few successful participants, but not many players in all weight divisions.

The effort each day in the weightroom before the meet is more important than the meet itself. I assume that you have a son on GCHS' football team (possibly number 55). You could possibly ask him if the players, including himself, give 100% in the weightroom each day.

You assumed wrong.

Aye, there's the rub.

I was unable to make the game. Congrads to Greenup. How did Raceland do? Did any young players pick up their game and do we see a solid future moving up for Raceland.
# 12 for Raceland had 3 T.D's. One was called back for holding though. He had also had one extra pt.catch . Seems he had pretty decent speed too. One thing that did catch attention is the Qb. looked very nervous when he heard footsteps. Maybe this will go away with more games. Alot of the younger boy's don't like to get hit. I would'nt either.:lol:

# 22 also had a good game. Had a few behind the scrimmage line tackles. Also had some nice runs after the catch. Seeing a few future stars coming up.

#22 is L. Huffman(Yard Dart) is a scrappy ball player and gives 100% not alot of size but loves the game.

#12 B.Mckee he plays RB/WR

Why does freshman/jv success not equal any , and I do mean any, success at the varsity level at GC ? Just 1 or 2 years ago the frosh went undefeated , and close to being unscored on, now it appears the young ones are rolling again , but when the varsity comes along they lose big ? any ideas ? LB

I will tell you why it's simple really. From firsthand experience it's ATTITUDE and LEADERSHIP. They need someone to step up and take charge and dominate, a strong presence on and off the field. Eric Craft is capable of doing that and I think 2008 is going to be a monster year for him.
