Recruiting? I think not when it comes to X and T

Let me start off by saying I understand both sides of the fence. However, the one I don't understand, and maybe you could shed some light on me, is how a kid that lives in Franklin County could go to Trinity. I know some kids go to Lexington Catholic because Franklin County is part of the Lexington Archdiocese but if that's the case, how did Trinity get the L____ kid? His brother and he both went to Elkhorn Middle School according to other posts and they live in the Frankfort area. Isn't that illegal???

His father also teaches and coaches at Trinity.

^ Amazing when that little tidbit comes out...

I guess the expression bothers me. Everyone believes something. Calling those that have beliefs different from ours "unbelievers" sounds a little over the top.

I agree.

My question is this...why would a family of 'unbelievers' send their kid to a religiously affiliated school? There are several non-religiously affiliated schools here in Louisville as well.

Another question, and one that I think LBBC may agree with me on...if we do have an 'unbeliever' within the student body, wouldn't it be within our mission to lead by example and teach that 'unbeliever' the way to lead a life founded in the ethics and morals of the Christian faith?

I would think several reasons could come into play:

1) there are not other private choices that are not religiously affliliated in other parts of the state;

2) the family has bought into the myth that private schools provide a better education;

3) the family has decided they want their kids away from all the CATS/NCLB testing and the political mess public schools are mired in;

4) a perceived drug/discipline problem in the school their child would be attending in their community;

5) athletic advantages;

6) extra-curricular but non-athletic options;

7) individual issues with the school their child will attend.

that is off the top of my head without much thought on the matter.

And your last question, AMEN from the choir, preach on sister.

As to the first part...I thought you were speaking specifically of X & T, so I responded limited to the Louisville area, but I do acknowledge your thoughts above as valid. :D

You Louisvillians always think it is all about you.:D;):thumb::lol::p:jump:

At my little country church, we have a long range hope of being able to start a Christian daycare someday that might lead into an elementary church and into a full school within the next, O, 100 years. :D
