Green County 51 Campbellsville 0

Featured Replies

The KHSAA shows these two played this evening. Any idea how it turned out? Did they actually play tonight or is it tomorrow?

Final, I edited the thread title.

Green County remains undefeated on the season... can the Dragons go 10-0 in the regular season?

Quite possibly..They'll be challenged by Glasgow, Metcalfe Co and CAL.. The way they're playing right now, they may should get a few votes for the Top 10... They at least have an argument...If they beat Glasgow next week, I would say they would deserve it...

What's wrong with Campbellsville? I thought they were poised to make a move in Class 1A. They're getting handled (albeit by decent competition) each week.

There is no question that Green County should be a top 10 ranked 2A team. They play stifling defense, and consistent offense, and they are a junior-dominated club. I think they will beat Glasgow and the only thing standing between them and 10-0 will be Metcalfe Co. In fact, based upon early season, I think that side of Western Kentucky (okay, includes south central) may actually be stronger than the Ft. Campbell-Owensboro Catholic side.

I'll reserve judgment because Owensboro Catholic always seems to get better as the year progresses. But right now, Class AA District 3 with Green, Metcalfe, Glasgow and Monroe seems to be very solid.

I think we'll know more after tonight. OC teams of the past will at least have been able to compete with teams like Apollo (tonight's opponent) and Ft. Cambpell ought to be able to compete favorably with Paducah Tilghman. If they don't, I think it would be reasonable to surmise that they are not as strong this year.

One thing to keep in mind for this year ASSUMING ALL DISTRICT WINNERS ARE #1 SEEDS: The winner of District 3 (Green, etc.) would have to travel to District 1 (Heath, Trigg, etc.) in the third round of the playoffs. The winner of District 4 (Danville, Bardstown) would have to travel to either Fort Campbell or O-Cath in the third round.

So while Fort Campbell/Owensboro Catholic might be down a bit, they still get the benefit of a home playoff game. And unfortunately for Green, Metcalfe, Glasgow, et al. they would have to travel to the end of the state for their game.

But that's a long time from now. We'll see how it plays out over the course of the year. Should be exciting!

I think both OC and Ft C records are abit misleading...IMO, if Green Co or any of the other D3 teams would have played Eville Rietz, Owensboro, Graves Co and W.East, like these 2 did, they would have 2 losses too...
