Is this Chris Pardue's last year at Boyle County?

Featured Replies

Boyle fans got 1.) spoiled by a great run of talent and 2.) instead of realizing that it was a great run of talent they instead chose to believe it was all the result of the coach. Therefore, short of a repeat of the same level of talent, no one was going to meet expectations.

Are you of the opinion that coaches do not help bring out talent? In other words, shaping the diamond from the rough? Could Jacob Tammi or the Leffew boys have gone D1 had they had a different coach or been on losing teams? Not that I am disagreeing with your statement, just wondering what you and others think.

It looks like it could be another long year at Boyle County. Could this be Pardue's last year?

If by long, you mean playing 12 or more games instead of 10, then I'm sure the Boyle fans will be ok with it. On a serious note, no, this won't be Pardue's last year no matter how the season turns out. Pardue isn't the problem. Coaches don't drop passes, fumble footballs, or miss tackles. Give this young team a little time, and they will be just fine.

In my opinion coaching on the high school level makes a big difference. With that being said, I think Smith benefited from more talent than Pardue but Smith also got more out of it. When comparing Smith to Pardue there is no comparison between the better of the two coaches but you could say that for just about any high school coach in Kentucky right now when compared to Smith.

I dont know about the situation regarding Pardue and if he will be replaced but I dont think there are to many coaches like Chuck Smith out there and Boyle Co. might be searching for a long time if they are trying to find one.

I agree but, unfortunately, its part of the gig.

Says who?? I don't believe there is a line in a coaching contract stating that "If you agree to this job, you will be subjected and you should accept all public criticism and speculation of your job amongst people that have no idea what is going on in your program."

If so, I missed that one myself.

I know what you're saying though, it's an unspoken truth that, for whatever reason, happens. Personally, it makes my stomach turn and Im not even a Rebel, nor have I been. A Chris Pardue supporter and one that I personally feel is a great man and great coach from what I know of him, yes, yes I am.

This thread isn't breaking any rules but I just don't like it. Call me a bad guru but I am going to end it. Let's wait and see how the season turns out and maybe then we can discuss this as long as it is done in a professional manner.
