Holmes 33 Holy Cross 14

Featured Replies

HC's QB has a good arm. I'm surprised they didn't try to drop him back more frequently. They had a big size advantage between their receivers and Holmes db's. The closest HC got to scoring on the Holmes D was set up because of a couple nice pass plays.

The Holmes D was flying to the ball this week...

How did Jeffrey West do ( wr from HC ) ?

11 or 15?

If he was 15 he had a pretty good game. I think he had both TD's on kick returns. He also had a couple of nice catches and one that got them to the 8...

If he was 11, he made a few good plays but nothing spectacular...that I could remember...

Wow very suprised espically hearing that holy cross did not score on offense...

Hey sounds like Holy Cross maybe got out of 1A at the right time, because they dont have to deal with possibly losing to the Daytons, Ludlow, and Bellevues this year now...:D

How did the QB from HC do?

It really wasn't a good showing.

Holy Cross may have some size, but they are SLOW.

Offensively, they tried to run the option and I would suspect they lost more yardage than they gained trying to run it.

Holmes brought the heat when HC tried to pass, and Reardon had little time to do anything.

Holmes likely doubled HC in yardage.

Holmes took over physically against a team that was physically bigger than them up front.

Miller sliced and diced them up the middle, Palmer hurt them on the edge, and Hunter ran hard. HC would stack the box and still couldn't stop them.

HC lost a lot to graduation, but they have a long way to go.

The West kid for HC is an impressive athlete, and had a couple of nice kickoff returns, but was the only bright spot for them tonight.Looks like Holmes corrected some things and got better from last week to this week. Kickoff coverage needs some work, but if they continue to make strides as they made tonight, they will likely compete with everyone in the district aside from Highlands.

I read in the Enquire.1 KR was for 86 and the other was 81.

RW was missed, but 1 player could not have made that big of difference. From what I hear, the QB it's getting enough time to throw. If that 's the case.....wouldn't you go to a shotgun O?

I believe, and this has been discussed ad nauseum with people in the know around NKY who can't figure Holy Cross out, but their coaching leaves something to be desired. They have the talent, but the coaches haven't seemed a way to best serve that talent. I'll never forget the year that Stone and Armstrong were in the backfield. A. They were hardly ever in the backfield together, and B. Stone had the best arm on the team. It wasn't until they were getting crushed in the playoffs did they move Stone to QB. They almost came all the way back. I know that this is a different coach, but it's the same philosophy. When you are a 2A school, you have to make adjustments that fit your talent. You can't make your talent adjust to your system.

The funny thing last year when people on here was saying that the coaching would be the reason why Holy Cross wouldn't do anything in the playoffs, the Holy Cross faithful jumped all over people saying the coaches are very good. Its good to see that people are starting to see that Bruce Kowzerski really is not that good of a coach...

From what I hear, he's not well liked in the coaching circles, either.

Yep I have also heard that for awhile now...:thumb:

For what reasons? From what I have seen the last few yrs., he's has/been respectable.
