Speaking of matching these two leagues up--any of the Maroon fans know if Northern is going to play Meece? Meece has them on their schedule for Sept. 22nd but I heard today that Northern said that their only date was in October or was going to back out of playing completely. Anyone know what is going on? We play Corbin on the 20th so it would be a tough turnaround to play Northern but I'd like to see all the local teams play each other.

Good report, I had heard that each team's open dates didn't quite synch up and that Northern wasn't available until October and Meece couldn't play then.

The game will be a 6:00 kick off, should be alot of excitment in the air. Northern is a little down talent wise compared to the last 5 years or so, but from what i have seen they play pretty hard.:banana:

From what I have heard the Jets were not the best team in the LCYFL that year either. The Bucs were the league champions and have been for the past 3 years.

You are right but it was Garrard County youth team that won the league. The Jets and Bucs split that year but the team from Garrard County actually won the championship that year. Jets and Garrard were 1-1, Jets and Bucs were 1-1 and Garrard swept the Bucs 2-0 that year.

When do the Bucs and Jets play there first game against each other this year? I know they have already scrimmaged. Should be a good game again this year.

Maybe the results of the Middle School games will settle which league has been the best the past couple of years. Meece Middle swept both Pulaski County Middle Schools this season. The 8th Graders were Seniors in the LCYFL 2 years ago and the 7th Graders were last year. They played and defeated what should have been the best players from the North and South end of the PCYFL the last 2 seasons. It may not be an exact science but until they play head's up it's the best we've got.

Except for the fact that Northerns best player on the 7th grade team had a broken wrist and was nothing more than a decoy. Not only that ,but their starting fullback was out with a torn ACL. Northern also had a touchdown called back on a very questionable call. :eek:

Meece had an 8th grade starter with a broken hand too. He's a very good player. I don't think that Meece has a BEST player. They play as a team. Both 7th and 8th.
