How is LC looking in the trenches on both sides of the ball? Also, how has the Goldsmith kid been looking throwing the football?

Both sides of the ball on the line need work and Boone is throwing a nice tight ball but is just under-throwing or over throwing. There are times when the receivers were open and just didnt catch it.

Throwing the ball as a base offense in high school is very tough, takes as a minimum a gifted QB who can control the action with his feet ... ie best athlete on the field ...

And if a passing base offense doesn't work .. you are toast , wonder how committed LCHS is to passing .. better work on knocking people off the ball that's Dawg football , the old timers like Roger N, Tater played ...

The passing offense requires an enourmous amount of reps. It is a must for the QB and WR's. The more reps they get in the more comfortable they become in their assigments and route running.

The offense will put up points, the key is to have a defense that goes with it.

You can also have a running game out of this offense if needed.

The lawrenca co quarterback is dynomite on the pass, but his recivers need to step up. When a QB puts the ball within 3 feet, it needs to be caught. Shannon Large got a solid hit in the knee, preliminary reports that I recieved was a deep bruise, from a hospital across the street. Can't confirm who that report camefrom, he was in a lot of pain. WARM UP THE FIRE TRUCKS.

The line for LC needs a lot of work and if they can have some holes for the RB to run through and the WR can catch the ball consistently then look for great things from LC. If those things cant happen then they will have another long season.

:thumb: I agree, one has to look nor futher than watching WVU play in college ball to see what a running offense you can have out of a "spread" set. Another thing is that in this offense the short passing game is really used like a run/ball control type offense if ran right.

I also 100% agree that a strong "D" is a must. (it doesn't matter how many points you put up if the opponet scores more ;) ).

I just got back from the scrimmage, the things that stood out for me was Lawrence County's defense which played well and aggresive the whole scrimmage, and Raceland's speed. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Lc only got one touchdown put on them. Fleming County looked like they had a powerful running attack, also some hard hits on the defensive side of the ball. Of course it was a first scrimmage for all three teams, so alot needs to be worked on. Boone Goldsmith, the quarterback for LC has great presence in the huddle and he seems like he is in command of his team. Coty Roberts for the Bulldogs had some nice runs I belive a 30 yarder then a reception for a touchdown for 40 plus yards, overall it was a good scrimmage for all 3 teams, Goodluck to Fleming County and Raceland throughout the year.

Lawrence County's Jv team looked really good, I dont think anyone scored on them the whole time I was there, and they came out firing, I belive they scored on their first two possesions against Raceland. They are very fast on defense, not that big but very fast and they all get to the ball , it was good to see that in a young team this early in the season, only bright things in the future for Lawrence County. Also, #33 for Fleming County, I think hes a fullback for running back is a beast, he was running over people and carrying 2 at a time for 3 or 4 yds. I know Lawrence Conuty is young, but they impressed me. kinda rusty at times on offense but what do u expect when u bring a totally new offense the first year, cant wait to see them in action next Saturday vs Montgomery County.

These things will soon work out. I'm sure the coaching staff & players will be working hard to get things going as planed.

These scrimmages are a great measuring stick to see where improvement is needed before going into regular season. They also give the coaches a chance to look at players under game situations to see where they best benefit the team.

Prayers go out for S. Large. I hope the injury is not serious and he heals quickly.

I just want to see great things happen for this program and all it needs is some hardwork and heart. We will see how the next couple of weeks ago for LC.

Ths scrimmage today did what it was suppose to do, see where you are at, and what you need to work on. Defense was ahead of "O" for all 3 teams. Raceland is well "Raceland" tough, hard nose team with talent. #20 made some good runs and hit the seams really well. #12 made some good moves and got more yardage after the catch, well coach team. #33 from Fleming Co. could with some hard work be a name to remember. The soph look to go about 250lbs and ran the ball hard and and seem to have a good attitude.

LCHS had a lot of drop balls with 3-4 that would have went for TD's if caught. Good luck to the Rams and FC.

We used to play Louisa (LC) years ago. It was always a battle and one I looked forward to each season. Scheduling is probably the reason for them not playing but I am not totally sure. Maybe in the future the Rams and Bulldogs can play once again. It would be a great atmosphere as both schools have great Tradition and a strong fan base.

I wish the Rams could schedule the Dawgs & BC, b/c there could be a new area conference scheduled w/ home & home series if all schools would agree.

school: teams on their schedule this year

Ashland: Russell, Boyd, Greenup, Raceland. (Need to schedule Lawrence)

Boyd: Russell, Ashland, Greenup. (Need to schedule Raceland).

Greenup: Ashland, Boyd, Russell, Raceland, Lawrence.

Russell: Ashland, Boyd, Greenup, Lawrence, Raceland.

Raceland: Ashland, Boyd, Greenup, Russell (Need to schedule Boyd, Lawrence)

Lawrence: Boyd, Greenup, Russell, (Need to schedule Ashland, Raceland).

I know that scheduling is extremely tough for all schools, but do you think all the schools would be interested in a conference and the missing 3 games is possible to arrange in the near future?

Imagine the cash every game in this conference could generate for each school on a weekly basis?
