August 7, 200719 yr http://www.thatsracin.com/247/story/5853.html Busch, who is leaving Hendrick Motorsports at the end of the season, signed a letter of intent last week to join Job Gibbs Racing and drive its No. 18 Chevrolets beginning next season, the Observer has learned. Reached by phone on Monday, Busch’s agent, Jeff Dickerson, would neither confirm nor deny a deal had been reached with Gibbs. “Kyle has made a decision and has a first choice,” Dickerson said. “There are a lot of details that have yet to be worked out.” The letter of intent is not binding and Busch could still theoretically change his mind. The 22-year-old driver’s two finalists were Gibbs and Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, multiple sources said. Dale Earnhardt Inc. was considered a favorite, but sources said over the past couple weeks Busch had seriously considered joining Ganassi’s organization, which fields Dodges for Juan Pablo Montoya, David Stremme and Reed Sorenson. An official announcement of Busch’s move to Gibbs is expected within the next two weeks at the JGR headquarters in Huntersville, N.C.
August 7, 200719 yr JJ out wonder where his ride will come from. I never would have thought Bush would end up there.
August 7, 200719 yr Author The Interstate Batteries sponsorship is also coming to an end after this season, according to Jayski. Not sure that Interstate can pony up enough to support this program if Gibbs wants to get it back where it used to be --- it's one of the lowball sponsorships in the sports.
August 7, 200719 yr Gibbs needs to get back in the shop and let someone else do football. I thought his son was to take over the Skins.
August 7, 200719 yr Author Jayski's been batting about 50 percent on his rumors this year, maybe less --- a good number for baseball, but not so good for reporting rumors. There are just enough denials (and just enough dubious sources) connected with the Gibbs-Toyota rumors that I don't buy it yet.
August 7, 200719 yr Gibbs needs to get back in the shop and let someone else do football. I thought his son was to take over the Skins. NO his son took over most of the responibilities at the shop, J.D. Gibbs.
August 7, 200719 yr Buddy of mine said he bought 2 Tony Stewart t-shirts at Indy for $25. He said they were $25 a piece. I asked him if they were old shirts, he told me they were new.
August 7, 200719 yr They are a powerhouse now... They will be the team that will be able to run with Hendrick week in and week out
August 8, 200719 yr NO his son took over most of the responibilities at the shop, J.D. Gibbs. That's a shame he is not doing better. TS is the only driver they have.
August 8, 200719 yr That's a shame he is not doing better. TS is the only driver they have. Denny Hamlin's not bad.
August 9, 200719 yr Denny Hamlin's not bad. :thumb: :thumb: I wish I could even watch a race. Haven't seen one since 3rd week of June!!! The only week-end I have been in the USA was the last off week!!! Been watching all the F1 races here in China though...
August 24, 200719 yr Buddy of mine said he bought 2 Tony Stewart t-shirts at Indy for $25. He said they were $25 a piece. I asked him if they were old shirts, he told me they were new. This is true. They had a buy one get one free sale on select Tony shirts. Don't let this fool you however. The ones they selected (except for one) as BOGO were not all that nice looking. Probably shirts that weren't selling at regular price. I got a pretty nice looking white Tony shirt with front and back designs for BOGO so I was pretty happy. I wouldn't put much into this sale though as far as something changing with his car. Now the Dale Jr. sale however was unbelievable. I got an awesome hat for 3 bucks. I don't like Dale Jr., but it was a price I couldn't pass up.
