OK, sports fans. I have an assignment for all of you Louisvillians.

 

Watch and listen to the newscasts in Louisville (either radio or TV). Listen to how the announcers and anchormen/women pronounce the city's name.

Hypothesis: Almost all of the Louisville announcers will say "Looeyville".

 

If I am wrong, so be it (but I won't be).

(j/k, I had to) Actualy I pronunce it either looeyville (due to the bats and the rest of the country) and more often I say Looavull................. and if Cassius Clay says looeyville then that is all the more reason to say any one of the others.:lol:

I know Looavull is the proper way, but usually when I say it, it comes out Luhvul.
