Breathitt County should be the second best team in the 14th this year, just behind June Buchanan. I believe they have 4 starters returning from a very good team.

I saw their team in an AAU tournament at SOS this summer and they looked like a team with potential, and could be a good challenger for JB. I will also mention they had some pretty big guys on the team.

YES,Breathitt Co. Bobcats will be a 14th region contender even tho they have lost a couple good young players Nick (Noble To Owlsley Co. and Josh Salyers to Jackson City) it never helps when that happens, but we do wish the kids best of luck, this means some of the young players will have to step up such as Ryan Allen and Jade Haddix ,Justin Talubee,Travis "Blue" Terry all seen playing time last year....With Nick Noble being gone the point guard is open for grabs, but a very strong tem will still be put on the floor as the freshman class last year was really strong and(9) deep so we will have to see just what Coach Steve Banks and his coaching staff can pull outta their "HAT" but as a fan I say they can keep the basketball gym roaring with good plays from ,Travis Smith and Justin Hollon,Dokata Ritchie and Arron "Bull" Combs and Channing Fugate, and who ever steps up to fill other spot,so see you at the games here in mountian basketball should be exciting to watch as always...Go Bobcats........With this being said I do think the Breathitt Co. Bobcats are in Top Three in Region with JB,and Hazard in there also.......

It has been told to me, that Drew Davidson, JCS stud is going to breathitt this year.

Dont look for Drew Davidson to be at Breathitt,he will be at JCS and is one of the best in Region,Breathitt should be OK,with basketball just arund the cornor ,Jade Haddix and Ryan Allen will have ta step up and play, should do well with whats back this year....Go Bobcats......

Did Ryan Allen quit the team? I also heard that Breathitt now has a big man from Owsley Co. Is that true?

I do think youngman from Owlsley Co.has been on campus at Breathitt Co.,Talk is Ryan Allen may not play basketball but Bobcat fans want to see him out there, all fans want to see all our athletes out on floor and field whenever possible...Go Bobcats.....

Has the kid from Owsley been ruled eligible by the KHSAA?

Has the kid from Owsley been ruled eligible by the KHSAA?

How long does it take to get eligible by the KHSAA? Also is this kid moving to Breathitt Co.?

Yes--that is right--wonder why he is not added to the conversation above???

Not mentioned because it's not for sure that he is coming to Breathitt and if he comes to Breathitt it's not for sure that he will get eligible. That is why he is left out until these two things get taken care of there is no reason to talk about them. Breathitt will still be in the top 5 in the region, but other than JBS and Hazard, this is one of the weakest regions we have had in a long time.

"Not sure he is coming"?? With the date of this posting--I believe school has been going on for nearly 3 weeks--as I understand --the student was there on DAY 1 of the new school year.

I guess that clears up one point above, now the only question, did he change residence or is he driving back and forth? He now has to try and get eligible. Good luck to him.

I heard today from a source in Breathitt County that the former Owsley player was ruled ineligible to play at Breathitt by the KHSAA. If he plans on attending Breathitt he will have to sit out on season before he can play agian. Which would be his senior year.
