Did you catch the kid's name?

Better late then never.....his name is Jarred Parker and he was the 9th pick overall in the MLB draft by the D Backs. He was Mr. Baseball in Indiana in 07 and his HS team went undefeated. I hear he only let up 20 hits all HS season.

Wicked wicked hard slider.

Is Bobby Mullins coaching this team next year ? I heard he maybe dropping back to coach 16's next year .

Yes, Bobby will coach the 18-U team next year along with Marty Connor. There should be a good turnout for the tryouts this Saturday & Sunday now that the two of them are coaching together. There will be 2 18-U teams, 1 strictly a tournament team and another in the Southwest Ohio League that will also play in several tournaments. That team finished second in the American division the 17-U league.

That's a great idea, both gentelmen are great coaches. The 18U team had the best record in Northern Kentucky, beating KC twice, the Royals and a ton of Cincinnati teams finishing something like 38 and 10. They lost a ton of players this year so there will be plenty of opportunity for those who want to play.

Just a reminder on the tryouts. Saturday, August 18th at 10:00 am and Sunday, August 19th at 1:00 pm at Thomas More College. These will be for the two 18-U teams. There should be a great turnout and great weather as well. The tryouts are open to everyone.

Just a note from the first day of tryouts. We had 46 players turn out today for the 18-U teams and look forward to many more on day 2 tomorrow. The coaches from both teams appreciated the hard work the guys put in today.

Who are the coaches for the Kings 18 team?

There will be two 18-U teams next summer. The team that is strictly a tournament team will be coached by Bobby Mullins and Marty Connor and the SWOL league team that will also play tournaments will be coached by Robbie Sumpter, who coached the 17-U team last summer.

How do you decide which players are on the weekend team vs the SWOL team?
