It was the case, but believe it or not, those involved were probably the classiest fans at the games.

Congrats to Greenup on the win, and to my boys at North Laurel for their amazingingly fun run/success in the post season. You guys really turned it on at the right time, and made some long lasting memories during the last couple of weeks.

 

Anyone else notice that on two consecutive at bats, Greenup's coach goes to the mound for a conference, and NL's Chris Maggard gets beaned on the next pitch?

 

Whitley County did an outstanding job hosting the series. Not only are their facilities top-notch, but their hospitality, preparedness, and attention to detail were second to none. WC, you did an excellent job in representing the 13th Region, along with Southeast Kentucky. :thumb:

Why because they both were having fun? I am not sure what happened, but I do know one thing, Logan used to have a bunch of parents on his teams that would sacrifice their Summer and their time to their teams. They would work till there was no end, and sell their Life to Baseball in the Summer time, so if they want to have a little fun at the games then I see no problem with it, as long as it is good clean fun.

 

A couple of questions have arose in this forum....One is who is to thank for the talent level. I believe we all will agree that McGlone was a great guy, but somewhat underachieved with the talent he had. Logan started with most of these boys when they were very young and worked hours and hours with them. Not only did he work with these boys but look at some of the other area schools that have kids returning that was on Logans teams that will be great. Gatlin Barker - Boyd County, Peyton Martin - Raceland, Nicholas Jackson - Paul Blazer, just to name a few. Those are also players that will be the tops of their teams next year. So, to say Logan doesnt deserve any credit if way off, because he is the one with the time invested, because he loves baseball and loves the kids. But he will work their butts off.

 

The last question was how long will he stay? My answer to that is he started something in Greysbranch that everyone said he couldnt do and that was a AABC league at the Fairgrounds. Everyone said he couldnt compete with the Little League system, but he did. And not only did he start it, but it is still going to today and he still has a hand in that. So I believe that should answer the questions of his committment of Greenup Co Baseball.

 

Congratulations to Logan and congratulations to Greenup Co Baseball, but I hope you have to take a backseat in a few years to the Boyd County Storm Players though.:thumb: :thumb:

Excelelnt post and comments about Logan GC storm. I said before, I coached Raceland little league in the late 70's and the Logan family was a mainstay at Greysbranch then. That family has lived baseball in their life, are good Christian people and have developed tons of baseball talent through the years.

I agree, Whitley's facilities are 2nd to none. That was my first trip to their baseball facility, and all I can say is 'wow'!

 

Maggard did get beaned twice in that game, didn't he? The first one was just inside, but the 2nd one was so far inside, it nearly went behind him.

I do not understand some of you on this topic. I only stated that SOME of the credit should be given to a past coach and it was completely blown out of context. Getting defensive about it was not called for. Your comment "Coach Logan doesn't deserve any of the credit" was never stated. Please read more carefully before you post.

 

You also stated that he has been in baseball for many years in this area. This is also true. But why? Like I said he has an investment and has followed it as any parent should. You may not care if he stays after another two years but there is something to say about consistency in a coach at the high school level.

 

As far as the fans go, I do not know what happened at Sectionals either, but you can have fun and still show a little class. After all, you are representing your county, school, etc. Do not try to justify behavior that is uncalled for.

 

GC baseball players, from what I have seen, have shown a lot of class. Maybe the parents need to watch them a little closer.
