Played SS as a soph, switched back and fourth as a junior, and played 2B all year as a senior. Plays both SS and 2B on his summer team.

Ryle's Roessel should have been named coach of the year. He has done a great job with their program.

I agree. Just because you have some good ballplayers with a lot of experience does not mean you are going to have the success that the Raiders have had the past several years. You have to manage an organization from the top down, and Coach Roesel does a great job of that.

He has the respect of every player who is playing for him, has played for him and the younger guys who will soon play for him.

I think Highlands coach was easily coach of the year the way he turned that program around in one year. The coaches of successful programs are often overlooked because it's so hard for them to exceed the already high expectations of voters. That seems true at many levels in most sports.

30 - 6 record is hard to overlook. Best record in N KY this year and second best to the teriffic team that Beechwood had last year. Coach Johnson has done a teriffic job at Highlands and I think his peers recoginized him for that.

But he was overlooked and that was my point. When you have the expectations that go with the top programs no matter how well you do someone will not be satisfied and will say "but he should have won with all that talent". It's not fair but it seems to go with the territory.
