RedBirdCards23 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Player A is batting, and Player B is Hindcatching, there has been one or another word said to one another. Player A gets on base and later comes in for the score and taunts player B, Player B doesn't do anything. It's 2 outs, and the Ump calls Player A out which makes it game over.. Is this the right call?
cshs81 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Are you saying that after safely scoring, Player A taunted Player B and the ump took the run off the board and called A out?
oldrambler Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 If I understand correctly and player A was called out bc he taunted another player then I think that it may be the wrong call. Player A could and should had been kicked out of the game after scoring and continuing the taunting but I belive the run stands. I may be wrong on this one. Maybe an ump can give us a ruling.
Dfenz Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 In this scenario - the run counts, player A is ejected, still two outs.
KYFEDUMP Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 You are correct....same result as malicious contact after scoring...run counts, runner ejected, and no out recorded...:thumb:
STRIKE3 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Could the offending player, also just be warned and not ejected, if the Umpire determined so?
WebGems37 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Hindcatching? I don't think I have seen that "position" ever used before in a BG Prep thread? BB3 must be older than me. What a relief to know that there are veteran baseball fans out there still following the young guys.
