Kentucky Top 50

Featured Replies

Have seen 7 of your top ten play, and a total of 18 of your top 50 play in person. I don't think O-Cath, Boyd or Beechwood belong in the top ten, but I do believe Ballard does need to move up as does PRP. Best game I have seen all year was the LexCath vs PRP game in the LIT..... Outstanding game.

Corbin is a good team, but just no consistency! They lost to Middlesboro and Knox Central recently so they drop out of the top 50..Hopefully they get it going and get through district. I look for em too turn it on!:ylsuper:

Pretty extensive research.

However, I think Lawrence Co. should be in there. Defeated your #5 Boyd Co., #24 Ryle, #30 Shelby Co. 19 wins verses 8 losses with some losses coming from #19 Mercer (had 4-3 lead in 6th), #32 Male, #36 Johnson Central (lead 1-0 in 7th, gave up 2 unearned runs in bottom half) 3 losses on spring trip to 3 good southern teams.

They play #45 Perry County Central and #5 Boyd Co. in a double header on Friday and Powell Co. and #42 Rockcastle Co. in a double header on Saturday. Four pretty good opponents in about 30 hours.

I also believe they currently hold a #21 ranking in the current coaches poll.

Just wondering if they were considered and not felt justified or just overlooked.

where do you get LC beat boyd? boyd just beat them 11-0

LC beat them 4-3 earlier in the year @ Boyd Co.

He has them 21st.

Sorry, guess I just over looked them.

It's JMO, but I think there is a need to revisit Louisville St. X at the No. 29 position.

The St. X Tigers:

-are currently 19 and 8;

-have 3 of their 8 losses to out of state teams;

-are the only in state team to beat your #1 team, Lexington Catholic, 5 - 4;

(Foot Note: This game was at Lex. Cath.);

-beat your #15, Trinity, 2 - 0;

-run ruled your #17, Louisville Butler in 6, 11 - 1;

-are Number 11 in the KHSBCA Poll;

-And since sweeping 3 games in the LCIT this past weekend, they are now 4 and 0 against Lexington teams.

Like I said it's JMO and I'll admit it - I'm prejudice.

After having seen St. X over the weekend, I would say that they are a very solid team, particularly on defense, and probably deserve a higher rating.

I will second that!

I do not believe St. X has enough pitching. I think a number of Louisville teams could come out of the 6th or 7th region depending on how they play on a given day. No one has dominated everyone else. True?

I really didn't realize how well Lexinton Catholic had played and their number 5 ranking in a national poll. Yet St. X beat them the other day. Won't the state tournament come down to who is hot, who is hitting the ball, and who is pitching well?:fire: :banana: :fight:
