MLB50 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Here are my predicted post season standings: 1. Franklin County 2. Woodford County 3. Frankfort 4. Western Hills Today Frankfort plays Franklin County (My ex girlfriends school) in the capital city classic! OUCH!!! I saw the score. Did the coach try and run it up or was it an old fashioned beat down? How many district games have been played and what place are the in now?
Hilltopper2005 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Frankfort plays at Woodford today. Franklin beat Frankfort 30-1 on Monday and Western Hills beat Frankfort 13-3 on Tuesday. Frankforts youth, inexperience and lack of maturity have really impacted them lately. However, they have some very good young players and if they stay together and keep working at it they will improve in the years to come. Franklin County did do some unnecessary baserunning.
KY Thorobred Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 OUCH!!! I saw the score. Did the coach try and run it up or was it an old fashioned beat down? 22-0 in the 3rd inning and they were still stealing bases and advancing on passed balls. But like they say what goes around comes around. County starts quite a few seniors and juniors. While High starts 8 kids that are either 7th, 8th, Freshmen, or Sophomores.
Teams2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Franklin County's Starters came out after the first Inning when it was 15-0 and their young kids played from their on out
STRIKE3 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 22-0 in the 3rd inning and they were still stealing bases and advancing on passed balls. But like they say what goes around comes around. MLB50 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 ....:irked: That is on the coaching staff. I don't know what game you guys watched but it wasn't the one where Franklin County played 22 kids in which they pulled all 8 starters after the first inning and the starting pitcher after the second inning. I was at the game and I know that the coach quit stealing bases in the first inning at 11-0. Not another stolen base took place after that. However, he did move up runners on passed balls and wild pitches. If you consider moving up runners on passed balls and wild pitches running up the score, consider the opposite. If I were coaching, I would consider it a smack in the face for a ball to go 50 feet past the catcher and the base runner to stand at first or 2nd base. Secondly, Frankfort High did not throw either of the senior pitchers because they wanted to save them for Western Hills in hopes of getting a win. The pitchers had 15 walks in 4 innings and the umpire was trying his best to help them with a huge strike zone. Also, keep in mind that Frankfort had almost 15 errors as well. That's 30 free baserunners in 4 innings of offense. Add to that the fact that most of the runs were scored by J.V. players and just maybe Frankfort should take responsibility for this one. Let's face it. Franklin County was trying to get out for the last 2 innings and Frankfort High had quit on the coaches. I can remember in the 4th inning with 2 outs and the score was 23 to 0, Frankfort dropped 2 infield pop fly's; missed 3 slow rolling ground balls that went thru their legs and the 2nd string catcher trying to catch a pop fly by running backwards rather than turning around. Give me a break, running up the score my -----------.

There are common courtesy aspects, in Baseball and not advancing, is one.
TheCoach Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 The final stat line for the game was 30 R, 14 H, 7BB, 6 HPB, and 9 E. That is a total of 22 runners that got on and score via Frankfort letting them on with out trouble. You are right in the fact that FHS gave up, they have most of the year from the games that I have seen them play. They only have 1 senior pitcher and he isnt their best, their best is an 8th grader whom they did start the game with and then he also started against WHS the next day but was yanked because the threw his helmet down on the ground which was the right call by the head coach at FHS. Teach those boys some respect for the game and equipment!:madman: :madman: :madman: I hate it when kids throw crap, and especially when they just didnt try hard!

FCHS coach did everything he could to keep from running up the score. I admire the Frankfort coaches patience with this team and I hope he sticks around for the stability of this program. Thorobred you do not sound like you like Franklin County, which is all ok, but at least tell the truth and dont blast the coach who showed much much mercy on this night. The coach for FCHS should have been commended on this night instead of criticized, and answer me this question. How many more players could have played besides 22? Starters removed after first inning. A no steal command even to the younger players after first inning. Get your facts straight before you get on here and tell false stories. By the way the two teams played again and Frankfort High was much improved. They made many plays they didnt make in the earlier game and also hit better. The starting second baseman played much better than the previous second baseman and he also pitched well.

My facts are straight....Jacob Clark did play well and he started both games for FHS at second base!
huntman138 Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Here are my predicted post season standings: 1. Franklin County 2. Woodford County 3. Frankfort 4. Western Hills Today Frankfort plays Franklin County (My ex girlfriends school) in the capital city classic! First of all Frankfort will be last by far at the end of the season and woodford will be 3rd and Hills will be 2nd cause by then the talent they have and inexperience with all the sophomores that are starting will be matured and much better than woodford, and county will be number1.
TheCoach Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 My facts are straight....Jacob Clark did play well and he started both games for FHS at second base! I believe your facts are straight for the running up the score, but Clark did not start @ 2nd the 1st game I believe it was Josh McPherson. Dont know why Clark wasnt playing but who knows, they are young and the coach could've been trying something new, and obviously didnt work.

Woodford is talented in the junior class and should be in the top 2 for the next couple of years in this district. Franklin is senior loaded, Hills is young, and Frankfort is very young. Woodford has losses to some great teams and a couple of good teams...whereas Hills has losses to 7-7 EJHS and to a very average team in Henry County. I'm not here to bad mouth teams but I think it is obvious that County is #1 WC is #2 Hills is #3 Frankfort is #4

You're right Coach...McPherson was moved and it showed he was out of position...he is a 3rd baseman.
