March 18, 200719 yr I still like Crean, though. I feel he is one of the top coaches out there. I agree on Crean, to me there is no such thing as the "perfect" coach per say. Crean, Giilispie, Izzo, Smith, "K", Knight, Williams, Pitino amoung others that I am surely leaving out are all some of the best and all I am sure have their weak along with strong points. Also, the coach at Butler does a very good job with the talent he has and the system that he runs.
March 18, 200719 yr John Wooden,if you're looking for a perfect coach, there's no other name but his name thats comes close. All the coaches that was mention on this thread are good and outstanding, but the name Wooden is the only perfect coach.

There's a difference, a great example is that most people think Pitino isn't a very good X & O coach, but no one has a better scouting report. And I also think he tends to have GREAT strategies going into games, if you take strategy to mean an overall plan and tactics to mean the specific execution of that strategy. He also proved to be a pretty good bench coach this season, like when he taught his Small Forward to play Point on the fly with about 5 minutes left in a game against Syracuse.
March 19, 200719 yr 1. Recruiting: Roy Williams is the undisputated King of Recruiting right now, IMO. 2. X's and O's/Game preparation: Tubby draws up some BEAUtiful plays. Too bad his players won't run them. Game Prep, I'll take Pitino. 3. Motivator: Pitino the Puppetmaster. 4. In game strategy: Coach K
