March 12, 200719 yr John Pelphrey's South Alabama teams makes the NIT and gets the reward of facing the ticked off Syracuse team in the first round. That could go the other way too. Sometimes the majors feel like they're above the NIT and just mail it in. Syracuse deserved to make the NCAA Tourney I agree with GT in that the selection committee chose to send a message this year. Their record in the Big East should have been enough to get them in but I think they were penalized for not playing a game outside of the state of New York until January 10th.
