Coach Wood is moving back to Nicholasville area I presume. The job will be posted and looking for the best candidate...doubtful that candidate would be within.

 

Are there any quality assistant coaches on staff that could fill the shoes of a Coach Wood?

The new coach will probably have the option to re-staff with quality people that they desire and have positions for.

Besides any left over staff members interested in this opening, what other names are being heard?

I think there will be more interest in this job this time around. ???? on names as of now.

There should be some different names mentioned this time around. I hope the administration can continue to support ALL MORGAN COUNTY athletics, and with a new Athletic Director, things should continue to improve.

I heard that moving back home to Nichlasville, he may rejoin a buddy of his on staff at a nearby Lexington school. I was informed by a guy that would know, but again, this may be hot air thrown at me as well.

Anyone shown interest in this opening?

There has been some interest in this job. A handful or so, so far. I believe they want to try to name a coach as quick as possible and may be calling in some for interviews within the next 7-10 days.

 

Hopefully the Cougars will land a great coach with a great vision and energy to guide them and the program in the right direction.

I can't leak names but applicants are from West Ky, Central, Southeastern, Local, and 1 out of state, so far.

 

 

I think they will begin interview process very soon. They are still accepting applications and interest.

I'm hearing Aaron Baldwin is the frontrunner for the job right now! Wonderful young coach that will bring lots of fun and gun style football to Morgan Co. He is usually compared to Mumme because of his pass, pass, and pass some more offense. I also heard that Bradley Cotton which is a college assistant is going to be his top man so watch out this could be an explosive team next year!! Russell's domination may be a thing of the past if this happens. I heard that Ivan is waiting to see if this hire happens to decide whether or not he is going to retire! Go Cougars and congratulations to Coach Wood. You did a wonderful job! No knocks to you but if this rumor is true then things are definately going to get better.:banana: :ylsuper: :jump:
