We had hope there for a bit that the Raiders just might pull this one off - but they couldn't.

The Raiders led the entire game, and it was only tied after a basket at the buzzer by Wayne sent it into overtime. From what I heard, it was still in his hands after the clock, but what can you do?

 

The calls and the balls bounced Wayne's way in the 4th... tough break for the Raiders. The main reason the Raiders lost this game was the fact that Coach Jones had them play a prevent offense and try to hold the ball the last five minutes. When you go out of your gameplan that had you up 12 points entering the 4th and 10 with five minutes to go, you lose. McCreary had costly turnovers from playing that way, and well... it cost them. Watts and Bartley missed some cruical free throws, but you can't hold it against them. McCreary didn't play their game when it mattered most and lost at the end... again. Whenever Wayne led by two in the overtime, a "turnover" and a foul gave them the three point lead. That "turnover" was completly wrong... The ball was kicked, but the ref never called it and then the foul on the Raiders. Nothing you can do but wait for next season. The McCreary fans were huge tonight, litteraly and figurativly.

It looks that way... They have been sloppy to end the season.

I think this loss rests in the hands of their coach, Rob Jones.

They should.

 

They return nearly all of their scoring, rebounding, assists... and they'll be veteran. They do, however, lose Bartley, who this year hasn't been anything he was while he was healthy, and then they lose their only size with Gibson. Scrappy Waters will be gone and bench player Lucas Gregory will be too.

The shot that put into overtime was good. I was at the scorers table and saw it clearly. Rob Jones did not contest the call because it was correct. I agree that McCreary should have just played and not went to prevent. Woods out foxed Jones on this night.

Looking at the season... he out foxed him all year.

 

I thought the basket was good too... but no one else on the Raider side did.. which is understandable. Raider Rob lost this game for McCreary, honestly. They should have never tried to hold the ball for five minutes... I could understand under 3 or 2, but certainly not 5. I knew it was over after regulation. Wayne got on a run and had the momentum... it was over before they tipped off the overtime. Watts had an awful night.

You should have come down to the table.

I would have entering the fourth being up 12.. and would have if we could have held on. The disappointment was amazing up there.

Rodney Woods is a great coach, he took his boys and beat McCreary and he could take McCreary's and beat Wayne......that is the difference in the game.

You should have come down regardless. I have met alot of BGP members. Win or lose we could have talked about it.:thumb:
