Hobbs should stay. The other two should go. Also, promote Finney back to full time asst., hire another good young asst. and keep Holsopple.

David Hobbs could very well be the best coach at UK (including Tubby). IMO if the Cats didnt have Hobbs on the sideline that there would be a higher number in the loss column.

For real...I know a guy that walked on and played for Macy's first team at MSU because they didn't have enough players. He said Macy didn't do anything and that the assistant (Breeding or Breeden?) did all of the coaching.

 

I definitely don't want him at UK, and I sure don't see that even being considered, unless he's the only one who will take the job.

 

I walked on at Morehead in the late 90's and Breeden was the only coach.

To the bolded, Macy has no business coaching at UK. I don't care if he was an All-American there and played in the pros. If you had watched MSU play over his tenure you would know what I am talking about, his coaching skills are not near as spectacular as his name is. Very nice man, average at best coach.

Kyle had modest success as a head coach. Who knows what kind of assistant he would be? My guess would be a good teacher of fundamentals and basic basketball, but probably a poor recruiter.

I hear that Tubby will be asked to replace two assistants. Remember, Tubby tried to get Reggie Hansen a head coaching position last year, to no avail.

That's the loosest use of the word "modest" that I've ever seen.

No, not Tubby, but his staff. Outside of Holsopple and Finney, the rest go. I think this is the most likely change that will be made. I wouldn't mind seeing Kyle Macy over on the sidelines. I also have a feeling that John Lucas may just be on the staff next year. Jai has talked about the "coaching situation" factoring in to his decision...

 

So my question to the UK fans, and those that aren't, would these changes satisfy you?

:thumb: I have said all along that there needs to be a big change on the staff/assistants. Imo Rigot and Hansen definately should be gone. I personally would love to see Kyle Macy on staff. I have said that for a few years now. Finney definately is a plus, he needs to stay.

We had this same discussion last year........... I predict Shag's tutor will take the fall this off-season.
