Madison Central?

Featured Replies

What is Central bringing to the table this year? Personally I dont belive Madison Central Baseball will ever be very succesfull with Roof the Head Coach. Any Opinions on this.

Just went back to '03 and here is record, plus Level eliminated.

'03 - 20-13 [Region]

'04 - 24-9 [Region]

'05 - 30-6 [Region]

'06 - 15-17 [District]

Not bad accomplishments overall....89-45, since '03.

Agreed. He's a great coach. We played his Summer team a couple of years ago. We beat them in a 1-0 game. Great, great game, BTW. Afterwards he came over and talked. He's class all the way. I believe Madison Central will be fine.

I called his cell before and the voice mail, was directed for the players, informing them of game status and arrival time.

What a joke!!! Coach Roof led Madison Central to the regional championship game just two years ago where they lost to LCA (eventual state champ) 5-4 in 10 innings. Last year was a re-building year. Roof is a great coach, but he is an even better person. Class act all the way around.

I look for the Indians to win 18-20 games in '07, and to be competitive in one of the toughest regions in the state.

Seems like alone on this one ive had first hand exsperiance with Roof two years ago Madison Central had so much talent every starter was a senior and all had great potential for going to the next level thats not just talk if you seen these kids play you know what im talkin about While his Records look very presentable they shouldve been much better. Central will still be on a down fall this season. The right coach wouldve competed for a state title two years ago. Mcmain went to EKU, Wiley UK, Ponder and Parks i think went to a Juco there was more than enough talent to make to the Title.

Losing to the team that won the state championship by one run in 10 innings is COMPETING for a state title! MC took the lead in the 10th but LCA strung together some hits with two outs to win the game, that's just baseball.

It's so easy to get on here and second guess and bash a coach. Coach Roof does a great job at Madison Central, and he had his team well-prepared enough that they were one out away from winning the 11th region (arguably the best in the state) in just 2005.

They were the best team i dont see how you can go 30-6

then to 15-17. You dont have have a great season then have a sloppy season. The reason they did so bad last year is because two years ago he didnt look into developing his sophmores and juniors. Now whos fault is that? The Players?

Roof is a good coach and even a better person. I've known him since he first came to Madison Central. BamBam what happened between you and him that makes you feel this way?

I've played against Madison Central plenty of times to know that Coach Roof is a good coach...They had a group of seniors two years ago who were really talented and lost to the team that won the state title. Madison Central could have easily won it that year as well. If you know about baseball you know that it's hard to lose every starter on the field and only have 1 or 2 pitchers who pitched and actually do well the next year. Not to offend anybody but the group that went 15-17 was just not as talented as the group that went 30-6. But he did do a great job with the group that only won 15 games, honestly I didn't think they would win that many with the schedule they always play. Madison Central will always be the favorite in the 44th district and will compete for the 11th region title. Roof is a great coach and a class act.

I have to disagree. This group he has now played a full j.v. schedule and summer schedule. In fact, that younger bunch probably ended up playing more games than the varsity in '05.

Coach Roof began scheduling the Lexington schools with the j.v. from the time he took over the program at MC. By the time his players are juniors and seniors playing Lafayette, Lex. Catholic, Dunbar, or any other Fayette County school it's just another game.

Roof is a top notch guy and is great for the baseball program and the overall school at Madison Central. He SHOULD still be coaching football there. Losing Roof is why the Indian defense has been so bad the past few seasons. He is a great guy and to try and call him out on here is BS.

Thats funny Roof is not at all the reason the Indian Defense has been bad, besides that Centrals defense hasent played very bad at all Madison Central allways takes on top notch Football Programs and in my opinion Roof shouldnt still be Coaching football at "Madison Central" Coach Parks is the DB coach which is what Roof coached Parks knowlege about football is much much better he was an All American DB At Georgetown College

Besides that lets stick to the forum.

Like i said he didnt pay enough attention to the Sophmore And Junior Class two years ago. There was alot more Baseball talent at Madison Central than what was on the teamjust off the top of my head that started Freshman and Sophmore year for JV There were atleast 6 maybe a couple more that didnt play there Junior And Senior season thats why they were down last year

Frank Parks was a very good football player, as was his brother. Parks isn't the issue here, it's Roof. He is too good of a coach to not be with the program. I'm only stating that Roof brought a lot of intangables to the coaching staff that seem to be lacking now.
