In a 56-0 loss, Central Hardin's defense allowed 187 yards passing and 160 yards rushing Friday night enroute to their eighth loss on the season at South Warren. To date, they have given up a record 347 point vs only 20 points scored. If they lose their remaining 2 games, they will post the worst season in the 36 year history of this school.

Meanwhile, Meade County pasted Daviess County 41-6. Central Hardin struggled and lost to this same Daviess County Team several weeks ago, 21-20.

While I won't breach the topic in this forum, sometimes you have to look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if this is the direction you want this program going.

Prediction:

Meade County 38

Central Hardin 0

Meade rolls with a running clock. To be honest, nobody at Hardin County Schools cares about the direction of the football program at Central Hardin. They have made that very obvious.

Man, I remember when all the answers seemed so simple. Just needed some new faces, a new head coach, a new offense, a new direction, and everything was supposed to fall right into place.

Funny how a few years can change the conversation. Turns out maybe running a football program isn't quite as easy as some of the experts in the stands made it sound.

But what do I know? I'm sure somebody will be along shortly to explain how we got here. I'm sure there is a parent in the stands that can turn things around for the Bruins.

Since the departure of Mattingly, the program has been a disaster. For those who did not think Mattingly was competent, maybe they think otherwise now. I think he did a great job at Central Hardin. They were competitive for a long time. Even when they lost, they were competitive with teams not named Male or Trinity.

Word on the street is you can expect more coaching turnover at Central once this year finishes up.

I think they have had turnover in other sports as well this past couple of years. More than had been the norm over the last several years. But I think it is a sign of the times in sports these days.

Unfortunately I think you are right about it being a sign of the times.

With the way the district administration allows the parents to dictate things, I’m surprised they have any coaches.

HC will be out at the end of the season. Probably a good thing moving forward to find someone who can breathe new life into this program.
