Louisville 44 Florida State 20

Florida State isn't just broke, they are double secret probation "broke-broke". I don't think Norvell will be back, but finding the money right now to get him to go away is a big problem for them.

Will this be what ultimately separates the future top programs from the has-beens? Will part of the equation be the finances of coaching hires that don't work out? LSU had a $44 million short fall last year and this year it is projected to be $26 million.

Admittedly, I have zero concept of the amount of money connected to college football, tv contracts, etc. But, to my simple-mind, it appears to be unsustainable for many universities.

Saw to get rid of Norvell and his staff would cost around 68 million. They might be stuck with him.
