Southern does a handoff up to the middle on 2nd down but that does not go anywhere.

Southern breaks a big run for a first down but Danville's Braiden Ford (sophomore) chases him down. Ball has moved to Danville 35. Southern takes a timeout after that.

Cruver tries another pass but Southern defends Cam Peters well and there is another incomplete pass. Mylan Peters takes a wide receiver sweep on 2nd down for a gain of 6 yards. 3rd and 4 is an option

Southern tries a run on 1st down but it is snuffed out for no gain.

2nd down and 10 sees Southern hand off to their fullback and Southern advances to the Admiral 15 with about 7:40 to play in the game.

Southern goes into the I but they fumble the snap and Danville recovers.

Cam Peters comes in to play quarterback for Cruver and he takes a big hit by Southern on the first play after gaining a few yards.

Beasley is given the ball and he advances to the Ads 30 for a first down.

A facemask was called on the Beasley run so that moves the ball an additional 15 yards to their own 45.

On 1st down, Cam Peters rolls out to his right and throws to McCane for 10 yards and a first down. The ball has entered Southern territory.

Cam Peters scrambles on the next play and makes a first down with his legs. That moves the ball to the Southern 40. There are less than 5 minutes to go in the game.

Gabriel Grey (freshman) now comes in at QB and on his first play there is a high snap that goes over his head. So that makes the first play a loss for the Ads.

On 2nd down, Grey throws a screen pass to Naysean Mays (freshman) for a few yards.

3rd down, Grey completes a pass to Beasley and Beasley is brought down at the Southern 3.

Danville takes timeout after that.

1:08 remains in the game.

Danville goes into the I and Grey loses the snap. The ball is on the 8.

On 2nd and goal the Ads are flagged for a delay of game. With that, the Ads decide to end the game without trying for another score.

Final Score: Danville 35, Southern 0

Post-Game Notes:

-Danville improves their record to 7-0 (and 2-0 in district play). Next week is a big seeding game against W.E.B. Du Bois (entering tonight at 5-1, 1-0). The winner will be the #2 seed out of the district for the playoffs and probably avoid a second round game against LCA. That game will be at Danville.

-Southern falls to 1-5 and will kick off a brutal district schedule next week, heading to Male (3-2 entering tonight).

-Danville has shut out their last two opponents.

-There was lots of sharing of the ball tonight as five different Admirals got to the end zone.

-Lots of fans were not fans of the PA announcer according to the Danville radio crew. Not good when your home fans are yelling at you!
