This will be a multi thread topic.

This thread is for everyone to submit their game they believe could be the Biggest upset during this timeframe. What classifies as an "upset' is up to the beholder. I don't want to put any constraints in this. What I would like to see though is a fairly good write up "why' you classify it to be one of the Biggest Upsets. I don't want a simple comment of "ABC High School over DEF High School in 2021'. Please go in depth on why the game would classify it being an upset, to allow the audience to understand why that game would be part of this thread. Here would be the minimal requirement in the submission: Teams, Year played, Reg Season/Playoff game, why it would be considered a Big Upset.

What will happen when the conversations slows down? Once this thread slows down, in a few days maybe a week, I will create either a Top 5 or Top 10 (depending how many games get submitted, that passes my thought as being considered a Top Upset). I will then create a new thread only considering those Top Upsets then the BGP members will be able to vote in a poll on which one they consider as the Top Upset since 2005.

Depending how good this thread goes, I will (at a date to be determined) create a new thread for Biggest Ky High School football upsets (Prior to 2005).

2009 Barren County Trojans (3-8) Defeated the Pulaski County Maroons (10-4). 9/25/09.

Year prior the score was 54-12. I was listening to this game on the radio and was expecting a typical blowout from a high powered school similar to how the Bowling Green, Warren Central (South Warren didn't exist yet) always seems to go. For whatever reason there wasn't a lack of big plays and scoring in this one and the Trojans came out on top. I believe, but I am not sure, it went into overtime and Pulaski went for two and did not get it.

This game was every seniors "favorite high school memory' for the next 4 years on senior night.

During the three year stretch in which this occurred Barren went 10-23, including 1-8 in district play.

Barren ends the season after the first playoff game.

Pulaski goes on a run before losing to Highlands in the Semifinals.

Ryle over highlands in 2010. It was the first time highlands had lost to a NKY team in years (I don't know how long). Ryle went on to lose to Trinity in the state Semi-Finals. Highlands had Patrick Towles at QB. It was the 2nd time those teams had met that season.

I am pretty sure that is the game that some Highlands fans will tell you Coach Mueller didn't go all out to win. Sounds crazy I know, ask around.

I disagree. Either way, I would love to hear what some experienced Highlands fans have to say about it.
