What if Iran...

Featured Replies

Like to eat? Like all the things you have made from petroleum products? Can you think of a reason not to fight for oil, since it's what the world moves on? I know you hate Bush and the Republicans, but do you honestly think that the party you support wouldn't make oil priority one?

 The best way to ensure a global petroleum shortage is for the U.S. to invade or attack Iran. Just like what has happened in Iraq, U.S. military action against Iran will cause great disruption in the supply of oil flowing from the middle east and consequently the price of crude would go through the roof. Not a good thing for you and me, but a great thing for the Saudis and those cowboys in the oil "bidness" down in Texas.

Right over your head.

Then it must have been extremely arcane, because I thought H addressed the salient point of your post (the disruption of the supply of oil).

If, on the other hand, your main point was intended to be that "the Democrats would invade a country just to keep us in oil", then I would have to disagree. We weren't experiencing any real threats to the oil supply prior to the invasion of Iraq, but as H pointed out, if we invade Iran as well, you can bet your last dollar that the price of a gallon will be going up - WAY UP. I don't see an invasion of Iran as a way to keep the cost of oil down - and I doubt that many other people would see it that way.

Well, you sort of understood it. My point was that IF that's why we went to war (which we all know wasn't the reason) that it would be something worth fighting for. If you're honest with yourself, you'll agree.

I'll let you start this exchange of honest answers.

IF we didn't invade Iran (a sovereign nation) for oil, then please tell me what the real reason was.

Well, as Jack Palance once said: "The day ain't over yet"....

Let's limit the question to Iraq, for another week or two at least...

 Ok, fair enough.

I certainly don't think we invaded for oil. Please don't tell me that you do. :creepy:

We did because of the intel we had, even though it was bad intel, at that time it was the right thing to do.

You mean the intel that Doug Fieth rewrote so the end would justify the means?

I mean the intel all of the Dems including Hillary, Kerry, Kennedy and on and on and on and on.......all agreed was reason to do just what Bush did. :D How soon we all forget.

I guess you think we should just pull out right now too, huh.

You might have a point if your statement was true, which we all know it's not.

Bush knew what the current intel was, and he knew what Doug Fieth and crew selected. Congress saw the cooked books.

 OK, if you say so. Whatever makes you feel better. Keep an eye out for those black helicopters.

Again, this is a fact that was recently investigated and determined that although Fieth and crew re wrote intel is not against the law, it should have NEVER been submited as fact. No black helicopter therory here, just facts recently investigated. Keep your head in the sand and beliving everything that the W admin tells you, the other 84% of the Nation will keep watching for the truth to unfold, slowly but surely.

Let's keep it from getting personal people.
