Whitley played hard and had an opportunity to win but Watts took over in the last 4 minutes. Scored 12 of his 24 in that stretch. Whitley led the majority of the game. Crawford for Whitley impresses me more every time I see him.

According to one of the Whitley radio announcers, Watts doesn't live up to hype, but it sounded like he had some pretty solid play to me too.

Deaton did a good job of keeping this game ugly and giving his kids a chance to win...Crawford had a nice game for Whitley...The Watts kid played well down the stretch and and did not miss a FF...How does Tommy Greer get to officiate a game out there when he use to coach at Whitley  The Watts kid is a player and needs more touches IMO...

He is a very nice player who is only a freshman. His teammates appeared to forget about him until crunch time and he took over the game. Coach Jones does not appear to be attempt to inflate his scoring average but he knew who he needed to bring this one home.

1. In the games I have seen Watts is a smooth player that gets alot done without a lot of fanfare, he can shoot the ball with the best of them.

2. Officals are a necessary evil, someone had to ref. I'm sure he (Greer) is as capable as any of the others. Most all officals have some ties to one or more schools IMO they mostly go out of their way to look fair in calling the game and don't give any breaks, he probably don't care a whole lot for either team IMO.

The reffing seemed a little sketchy, to say the least. Watts came up big in the 4th quarter. Whitley had a lot of trouble with the pressure in the fourth, and if McCreary would have pressured throughout the game, it would probably have never been in doubt.

Also, I think LeBanion deserved to be thrown out. Maybe I am biased, but if I would have been a referee and it was any team, I would have had him out in a second.

Raiders coach Rob Jones gets win #100.

I didn't really see what happened with all that, but there was alot of pushing...

LeBanion got McCreary's Hale right in the side of the head. You can call it a punch or slap, and then the pushing started. Some of the fans there were extremely rude, but Whitley has a nice looking student section.

I have seen LeBanion let his emotions get the best of him on a few occassions myself. He is a good player, but can get frustraed. As he matures he will learn to control himself better. I am sure Coach Deaton will nuture him along very well. As a group Whitley is playing very rough, hacking and grabbing alot these days. That can really even talent and skill out if those actions are not called as fouls.

Congrats to Raider Rob on his 100th win.

If McCreary had pressed throughout they would have not had anyone to play the 4th the way the fouls were called in the first half. Coach Jones came with the press at the right time. Congrats on #100 to coach Jones and he needs a haircut. The Watts kid was very dominant on the defensive end tonight. He had a lot of deflections, steals and altered several shots.

Deaton proved that his team is better than most give him credit for. Pushing McCreary to the limt, in a game which they led the whole way, till the last 3 minutes. Watts made 8 of his 12 points in the last four minutes from the free throw line, according to the radio. The game was closer than the 9 point margin.

Lebanion recieved a hard foul and the secon MC player came in and pushed him, He did not push back but put his hands up in defense of himself. But it all start the the previous trip down the floor when he recieved a covert elbow and then the hard foul. Lebanion reacted like any 15 year old, and his game was never the same for the rest of the game.

Good luck to MC, I think they will make a serious run in the post season. Keep up the good work Colonels, you can still get to the ten win level.

I came down to watch Deaton coach tonight and I had never seen so many fouls called in one half of basketball before. I think their was somewhere around 23 fouls in the first half. Like 13 on McCreary and 10 on Whitley!Whitley just couldn't finish, when MC started pressing is when MC took the game over! There were some fans around where I was sitting in the upper area behind the goal that were yelling at the MC fans who were complaining about the refs. SSF that wasn't you yelling, was it? LOL

Naw Southern is a gentleman.

Didn't know but there were some fans who were getting mad. However, they had good reason to be.
