Civic Stadium - Gilligan Field is a special place to watch a game. Terrific memories of their 1977 1A title team - a great group of guys.

Stadium renovations look top notch.

Here is the stat summary for the game.

TurboStats GameCast for Football: Holy Cross Indians_vs_Bellevue Tigers

Covington Holy Cross finishes a perfect regular season at 10-0 by defeating Bellevue 29-6 at Gilligan Field.  The Tigers struck first with a Meikel Richards 2 yard run early in the second quarter.  Bellevue had success early on their opening drive with their run game.  However, those would be the only points for Bellevue as the Indians defense was able to blank the Tigers offense the rest of the way.  Holy Cross added 3 touchdowns of their own in the second quarter and one in the third quarter.  Two big plays stand out for HC - a 49 yard pass from QB Brian Ferguson to WR Thomas Maddox and a 92 yard run down the left sideline by Ferguson.

For Holy Cross, Ferguson was 3-5 passing for 62 yards and 1 TD.  Ferguson also had 9 carries for 137 yards and 3 TDs.  RB Charles Oglesby also ran for 137 yards on 18 carries.  HC had a total of 292 rushing yards.

For Bellevue, Tristan Woodyard ran 10 times for 45 yards.  Bellevue had a total of 81 rushing yards.

Now the playoffs start next Friday night.  #1 seed in District 4 Covington Holy Cross will host #4 seed in District 3 Dayton.  That game will be played at Scott High School.  #3 seed in District 3 Bellevue will travel to play #2 seed in District 4 Bishop Brossart.
