This Calloway team with their 5 wins so far this season have matched their win total from the last 4 seasons combined. They have only 12 wins in the last 8 seasons stacked together. They had 5 total wins from the 21-24 seasons with two of those seasons without a win, including last year. So, congrats on the turnaround for the Lakers. This is something they haven't been able to do for quite some time. You have to go back to 2016 for the last time they had a winning record. Calloway's last win against PT game in 1999.

I don't think we'll find a lot of takers for Calloway to pull the upset in this one, but big props on them making a ton of progress in a short amount of time.

The most interesting takeaway from this may be how much this game impacts what everyone is talking about right now, and that's the RPI. With 0 wins for Calloway last year, it didn't help your team by any stretch as they had the 2nd worst RPI for the year in 4A. Couple that with the fact that Tilghman played 1A Russellville to end the last 2 seasons, and PT did themselves no favors setting themselves up in that regard. Their number took a big hit those final weeks. Calloway actually putting up more wins than expected and playing a 6A team in Christian County to close the season, should help hold closer for them, although Christian has really struggled in their final season before the merger.

I know there won't be a lot of interest in these last 2 weeks for the PT games, as they will be expected to be over quickly, so PT should have some time to work on whatever it is they deem necessary.

A little fun fact, this Friday is also my birthday. The last time PT played on my birthday was in 2014 against Webster County when Mike Rogers was the coach. PT lost to South Warren in the 3rd round of the 3A playoffs that season. Belfry beat Central 14-7 in the Championship game. I still remember it well and definitely doesn't feel like 11 years ago.

Happy early birthday, TilghmanPride!  Hope you have a good one!!!

The Lakers hired PT’s Offensive Coordinator from last season - Coby Lewis.  I’m not real sure how much play calling he did for the Tornado but obviously he was involved in their offensive system.  I’m not sure what Lewis did before PT.

I also think one of Lewis’s sons is one of the Lakers main pass catchers.  A senior I believe.

Happy Birthday TP!

Finally, an easy bus trip in district for Tilghman!

Happy early Birthday @TilghmanPride maybe the Blue Tornado can pitch a shutout against those Lakers as a gift to you. Logan Smith for Calloway County is a pretty good player, over 1k on the ground with 16 TD’s already (5 of those were against Warren East.) I don’t expect this one to be close and similar to last week for PT, dominate and move on to the next. Another situation where I’d be concerned if the Lakers score a couple of TD’s, night and day differences on the rosters. Coach Lewis may have a few things up his sleeve that he can scheme up but I don’t think it’ll matter at all.

Any video streaming for Calloway?  I figured this is a long shot but thought I’d ask.

First play of the 2nd qtr and we have a defensive touchdown to start the running clock.

PT got the running clock going one play into the 2nd qtr with 11:46 left in the half and led 49-0 midway through the 3rd before allowing a couple Laker touchdowns.

PT ends the season at home next week against Christian County.
