Walton-Verona took the opening kickoff and drove down to the 15 yard line, but then threw an interception that Bracken returned all the way back to the WVs ten yard line setting up Bracken’s first score. Walton then tied it up shortly after. Bracken was up 14 to 6 with 20 seconds to go in the half and Walton at Brackens 35 yard line. Bracken then intercepted a short pass and took it back 70 yards for a pick 6 to go up 20 to 6 at half. Which was the turning point in the game, as it was then all Bracken County in the second half.
