Walton-Verona travels to play Ludlow on the red carpet this Friday at 7:00 pm. Walton-Verona is 0 and 1 and coming off a bye week after losing their opening game of the year to Bishop Brossart 15 to 7. While Ludlow is 1 and 1 with a loss to Newport and a win over Holmes last week.

What is everyone's thoughts going into this matchup?

Friday’s matchup has the makings of a close, hard-fought contest. The turnover battle will be critical, and whichever team takes care of the football is likely to come out on top. Adding intrigue is the homecoming of sorts for Coach Pence and several members of his staff to Ludlow, where they are graduates. That connection adds a fun element to what already figures to be a tightly contested game.

True, as there is connections on both sides. As the head coach at Ludlow, Woody McMillen was the first head coach ever at Walton-Verona. Also Jeff Barth who was the head coach for many years at Walton, is an assistant at Ludlow. So lots of connections between these two programs.

Barth had some good years at WV it surprised me when he stepped down to be an assistant.

Having played Walton, and with Ludlow an upcoming district opponent, I am interested in this one.
