Final from Murray State. 

All 3 of Marshall County's losses this season have came against Calloway County. 

 

 

From what I heard from Brian York, Calloway was a little classless towards the end.

Darn if I didn’t miss this game badly. Picked Marshall in my local Sweet 16 contest. Marshall had defeated Calloway 17 in Dec. then lost by 5. And lost in the district by 9. So I figured Marshall with only those 2 losses on the season would prevail in the most important of the four games, the regional championship game. But Nope!

It was 79-52 in the first matchup, so it was actually by 27 the first game?. 

The district title game was 67-56 Calloway, so an 11 point loss.

Assuming Ashland doesn't get upset and wins the 16th, Ashland-Calloway could be an interesting matchup.

Speaking of a region 1 vs region 16 Sweet 16 matchup, it’s almost the same distance from Ashland Ky to Washington DC as it is  to Murray Ky from Ashland.
Just some useless trivia with zero to do with the Rupp game. ?

Marshall lost their 2nd leading scorer and best defender to an ACL tear in February. And Calloway got back Conner Lockhart back from injury. Those two things really swung the two teams.

I wish I had known that. ?? I would have picked the Lakers in my contest. 

Since the return of Conner Lockhart, the Lakers have played well rounded basketball.  Conner, Eli, and Jonah finally make the trip to Rupp.  Good luck to these seniors and the Lakers.
