Wow, 14-3 3rd Q for Grant was clutch!!

WV had a nice season, I think Terrell is a senior, so you hate to see her brilliant career end so quickly.  

Good luck against SK to the Lady Braves.

This was an Odd game.  Grant County is up 20-7 after one.  WV goes on a 17-0 run to take a 24-20 lead.  Grant County hits a 3 with under a minute to go in the half for the 24-23 halftime score.  Third quarter Grant County takes the lead for good.  WV did cut it to 44-41 with about 2 minutes left.  Grant County scored on a 3 and WV went down and hit a layup (47-43).  Grant then spreads the floor and starts shooting free throws.  Walton did not score again.   

I think WV beat them by double digits a few weeks ago. Is this a huge upset or did we know they were evenly matched?

Grant had 2 starters out when they played the first time. 1 of those starters is Olivia Ginn, who the consensus says is their best player.  When healthy, Grant is a tough matchup.   SK only beat Grant by 5 or 6 the first meeting  Grant got their 2 starters back at the right time. Great end of season win against Anderson County at Anderson to head into districts.  Should be a good final.  These 2 teams are no strangers from playing in a district final, and meeting in a regional final.  I believe 2 times in the last 6 years this has happened.

Beat them by about 25 last time, but the Lady Braves were without Livy Ginn, which makes a big difference.

WV played last night without one of their starters who was sick.  It was nice to see 6-foot sophomore Ava Kendall make an appearance for WV last night.  She missed the whole season and just started practicing the previous week.   Injuries are part of the game.  You hope to be healthy at the right time.
