The Double Deuce Posted February 16 Posted February 16 We have reached the last week of the regular season!! Been a terrific year, and we are going to get several outstanding match-ups this week as teams finalize their preparations for the post-season, including Cooper with two Top 10 (in KY) road games, and Notre Dame also playing two Top 6 teams in Kentucky. After the Sweet 16 draw on Friday, it is clear that our local teams are going to have their work cut out for them early down at Rupp with the 8th (Simon Kenton) drawing the 11th in the First Round (in my opinion, likely Franklin County, but there are several good teams there), and the 9th Winner will get the 7th (Sacred Heart, most assume) in the 2nd Round. Important to be playing your absolute best over the next three weeks with District and Region play right around the corner. Special mention this week to Simon Kenton who had the WIN OF THE YEAR ending Sacred Heart's 92 in-state winning streak by knocking off the Valkyries in Independence. What a massive win for SKLP! They'll remember that one forever. 1. Cooper 19-4 (2-0 last week): at Frederick Douglass and at Assumption 2. Simon Kenton 21-4 (3-0): at #7 Highlands and vs #6 Campbell County 3. Notre Dame 19-5 (1-1): vs Assumption and at Sacred Heart 4. Dixie 16-8 (1-1): vs Scott and vs Franklin County 5. Holy Cross 23-6 (1-2): vs Scott 6. Campbell County 16-8 (1-0): vs St. Henry, at #2 Simon Kenton, and vs South Laurel 7. Highlands 18-7 (2-0): vs #2 Simon Kenton and vs Beechwood 8. Bishop Brossart 21-6 (2-0): at #9 Walton-Verona and at Ryle (feels interesting) 9. Walton-Verona 19-8 (3-0): vs #8 Brossart and at #10 NewCath 10. NewCath 15-13 (1-1): vs Grant County (also feels interesting) at #9 Walton-Verona ====================================== * Grant County 14-11 (2-0): at #10 NewCath (see above!) and vs Madison Central * Scott 12-10 (0-1): at #4 Dixie, vs Ludlow, and at #5 Holy Cross * Conner 9-16 (2-1): at Scott County and vs St. Henry * Ryle 7-21 (0-3): vs #8 Bishop Brossart (see above) * St. Henry 12-14 (1-2): at Clay County (interesting trip), at #6 Campbell County, and at Conner 1 1

At least for this week seeing what they accomplished. What a cool thing! 3
