12th Region All A moved

Featured Replies

I just learned that the 12th Region All A regional has been moved to Somerset High from Danville.  Apparently, the Danville gym has a leak.

DCA and Somerset open tomorrow night, the 7th, with the tip off at 6:00 PM.

Danville is having a really tough year with their facilities.  They had to move their home football games to Centre College last season.

DCA was next up in the rotation, but didn't feel able to gather the help needed to run the tournament (No slight).  IT is a major undertaking on short notice with 6 boys teams and 4 girls teams.  Somerset stepped up to the plate, and in turn will lose their turn to host in 2027 (The tournament will be @ Danville).  Kudos to Somerset administration for stepping up on late notice to serve the kids.

The AD was definitely working the phones last night.  I almost had to keep the clock.  That is a tough job to get it together that fast.

DCA defeated Somerset tonight 49 to 36.  Somerset, I think cut it to as low as 4 or 5 going into the 4th Quarter.  DCA played well early, and finished well in the 4th.  Somerset was the opposite.  Slow starts have plagued them.

If Somerset had a PG they could win the region. They got all the pieces!! Ryan Young always gives DCA all they want!! Congrats to DCA.

Coach is trying to run the PG spot from the sideline for them.  Josh Lewis coming back will help this team tremendously with putting it in the basket, but still I agree a guy to setup everyone would make this team really good.

Somerset Christian rolls by Trinity Christian tonight by 40 to set up the very first “all Christian” school matchup in the All A Finals for 12th Region.

Given the weather forecast I’d say we’re looking at Saturday or later for the game.

DCA leads Somerset Christian 36 to 25 @ Half in All A Finals. Big Leek is different.  He has dominated the first half.  To me, he’s clearly the best player in the region when he’s engaged.

18 points @ half, and made it look easy for Ateny.

62 to 40 end of 3rd in a foul fest quarter.  The Warriors are one quarter away from back to back All A championships, and 3 out of 4.

I wonder how many minutes he actually played in the second half.  He sat a lot due to foul trouble.  Do the stats reflect the minutes played?

Their numbers were posted from the local paper in Danville on their Socials.  My guess is he played 2 mins in the 3rd.  It was definitely a foul fest that quarter.  He was unstoppable early, but not sure SCS had a plan to even try.
