Pulaski County 53 Wayne County 49 (OT)

I got to go down to Rodney C. Woods Gym for this one. It thought it was good high school game with a great atmosphere even though the crowd was down a bit with the Lady Cards playing away at McCreary. There might have been a little more emotion in the air with the Farmer transfer and Phillips transfer/transfer back.

Wayne led most of the way but Pulaski had just a little more experience to push them over the edge in overtime. I thought Fraley was the difference for PC down the stretch as Wayne had a hard time doing a whole lot with him when he got down low with the ball.

The key to playing PC is to not let him get down low with the ball.  Easier said than done sometimes but Madison Central figured it out.

I have seen Pulaski play twice now. Fraley seems to be moving better than any point I seen him last year. I think they will only get better as season goes on. They go through long stretches of games without being able to score.

After the first quarter Pulaski took Phillips out of the game. I think he only scored 3 points after first quarter.

How long until they take Coach Woods name off of the floor or the gym?

I've heard a lot of things but I do know that one of Woods' former players won the school board seat (decisively) against the current board chair that spearheaded most of the mess that has occurred and takes office in January. I don't know if removing a name is a board decision or not.

Fraley moved well (I'm glad he seems healthy) and is crafty. I thought he drew some fouls that other players have a hard time getting. That's experience and he's just really smart with the ball.

Wayne could have folded when Phillips got contained but they kept fighting. I thought the sophomores played with poise in the second half except for just a couple of plays. I honestly think they have a pretty high ceiling but it may be next year before we really see it.

With the change in the school board, I don't think the current superintendent will be there long enough to do that.
