The 2024-25 Highlands Bluebird’s season opens tonight as they head to Taylor Mill to take on the Eagles of Scott High School. Can’t make it? I’ll be live broadcasting the game on bluebirdsradio.com . Tip off is at 7:30.

Scott may have an advantage with Highlands not being at their peak after just finishing football on Friday, but I still believe the Bluebirds will come out on top. Scott is facing the challenge of filling in for a lot of scoring that graduated last season, so it will be intriguing to see how Fro and the team adapt.

An interesting aspect for Listerman is that his roster may not include any seniors. This presents a unique opportunity for him to develop the team without the worry of losing key players for the upcoming year, allowing for a more focused approach to building their future.

Scott is up 40-39 at half

Welcome to BGP @Eagle_fan_2026!

Highlands up 1 57-56 end of 3

Highlands won by 15.  77 -62

Good game by both teams.

Birds got a great win. Interesting stat, 46 total fouls called across the game. Wow.

I too am looking forward to watching this team grow throughout the season, there will obviously be bumps in the road with no Seniors but they still have some nice young talent.  The current Soph class won the Freshman NKY tournament last year which was the first for a Highlands team in awhile.  Along with the current Jr/So class the Freshman class has a very nice talent pool that will create a nice line of talent coming in the very near future for the Birds to cheer on.....Now the BIG QUESTION MARK, can Coach Listerman keep everyone from not jumping ship and focusing on say football when these multi sport athletes maybe thinks to concentrate on one sport...

GO BIRDS!!!!
