This game was played at Jackson Co. Is anyone surprised by the final score?

It surprises me. Corbin has struggled some lately as teams have really concentrated on stopping Rogers & Jackson and the younger girls have been a little inconsistent. Good win for the Lasy Hounds!

When South played Jackson they had 2 starters out or I think the score would have been much closer, and from what I heard they were still out against Corbin.

What I was getting at with this question is that Clay Co. only won by 8 or 9 at Clay Co. So my question: Is Jackson Co. an inconsistent team, or did Clay Co. have an off night and could the 13th region title be very much within the grasp of four or maybe five teams?

Corbin would have a tough time matching up with Clay because Clay has so many kids that can play. They can shoot and have some beasts who can post up. Coach Parsons does a great job but probably doesn't have the horses this year. It was ashame that the Rogers girl got hurt last year. She would have made that game very interesting. South has the best chance to beat Clay. They have the best combination of kids and appear to be getting on a roll.

I dont think Corbin can match up with Clay. South will have the best chance, but I still Clay winning by about 10....

Jackson Co did play Clay close but that was a pretty horrible game by Clay...But just look at how bad Clay beat Knox, and I think Corbin got beat by Knox..

Corbin had a good team last year, but Clay had something no 1 in the 13th had last year and that was Gilbert and she was the difference in Clay and then South,Corbin..

Jackson did not play in the Knox game. She is one half of Corbin's dynamic duo. But I agree with you Clay is definitely the team to beat. South is probably #2 but until somebody beats Clay I'm putting my money on them.

Clay Co. had an off night against Jackson.

That was my point exactly! If they have an off night in the regional tournament, there are four or five teams who will beat them!

yeah it "could" happen but I doubt it will..the only team I see being capable is South....

Corbins girls seem to be playing really well this year.

Coach Parsons gets the most out of her kids. She has some how managed to beat both South and Whitley who are both loaded with talent. Her kids always play hard and as a team. Her kids are as fundamentally sound as any you will find. She is a great teacher of the game and motivator.

I agree with what you are saying, the level her teams are playing now compared to the way Corbin's girls were when she came there is like daylight and dark, she is a very good coach, it may be hard to keep her at Corbin when the new Harlan High comes calling.

yeah Coach Parsons is a heck of a coach, but I dont think this will be the year that the hounds go out west..
