Covington Catholic beats Dixie 42-14. Ballgame.

  • They are just decimated with injuries. 1st and 2nd string QBs are out. 1st and 2nd/3rd string RBs are out. 2 of top 3 WRs are out. Starting OT out. Starting CBs, S, LB, and K out.

  • A lot of good options. My personal opinion after watching some of the freshman games plus Queen's Hudl: - Unless Harney is able to get up to a "B-" KY HS level passer from a "C-", I don't think w

A wild QB scramble that ended in a big gain comes back with an illegal block on Dixie.

2nd and 25 Dixie on the Cov Cath 44.

Bad snap. Rose gets the pass off. A little fumble-roosky gets the ball handed off, and that leads to a Dixie touchdown. But there are 3 flags thrown for illegal blocks. Touchdown doesn't count. Coaches elect to end the game....even though you can't end a game on a penalty flag.

I talked to one of the coaches for a minute and he said they apparently have multiple kids out sick with pneumonia too. Pneumonia! Sheesh!

Dixie isn’t very good, but Dylan Courtney is a pretty talented QB. He’s going to be a real nice player.

Sounds like the ole ball coach is going to have to make some big time decisions… 3 future big time QB’s in the program (Queen, Link, Courtney) and Harney playing QB again next year.

A lot of good options. My personal opinion after watching some of the freshman games plus Queen's Hudl:

- Unless Harney is able to get up to a "B-" KY HS level passer from a "C-", I don't think we can beat a really good Highlands team and a hopefully not as dominate Boyle in 25 4A. Clearly an elite athlete though.

- Queen is the most talented player of the bunch. A borderline "A" level KY HS arm right now. Just needs game reps to speed up his process and some time in the offseason to get more athletic. He will be an awesome KY HS QB.

- Courtney is the most talented Freshman QB we've had since they started streaming the games in 2020 (Queen was at Elder last year). Would be a very quality starting QB option in 26 and 27.

- I thought Link was our best defensive player against Highlands and will get snaps on that side of the ball next year. He would be a good player at a bunch of different spots, including QB.
